Just thought i'd say hello and thanks to the people's who's posts have been helping em and steer me to some decent resources for BJ, BS and CC.

Been interested in learning to count for months, although have finally purchased Blackjack Attack 3 as well as Professional Blackjack along with CV, which seems to be the nuts! I'm a 19 year old student, just looking to maybe try and cadge a bit on the side to help out with uni fee's and the likes.

Just wondered on your opinions on where I stand:

I can count down a deck in around 24 seconds now, flipping over a single card, 2 at a time i'm around the 20 sec marker, 4/5/6 at a time takes around 30 seconds. How far do you reckon I am from taking on a dealer? What should I try to practice now?

Secondly, CV BS trainer, I have the hard/soft stand/hit/dd pretty nailed, can do 40 hands in between 45 and 55 secs with 98/100% accuracy 90% of the time, just wondered how quick I should be doing them? Slightly gutted though that after the time it took to learn the soft hand DD tables, my casino's (London/UK) don't allow it :(.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Finally I know people don't like to throw around casino's with good games for fear of them being striped up, but are there actually many good games outside of the US? Specially around the UK, not fishing for names, just enquiring to see if they really do exist, or am I better of searching further a field.

You will find no DD games in UK. There are several members here on the boards from UK so as you get better known maybe they will point you in the right direction. Can you play in UK at 19? In most places int he US it is 21 although some Indian casinos that don't serve alcohol are 18.

Didn't mean double deck, rather the soft double down tables lol, my bad.

Yep the legal age over hear is 18+, a bit confused on the rules regarding doubling on only 9/10/11 vs. doubling any two, seem to be conflicting stories so will have to scout around for myself.

In the UK, operators have the option of retaining the "old" double down on 9,10,11 only rule or of allowing doubling on any two cards. Wherever I've played, including the odd occasions when I get to the Smoke, I've been able to double on any two cards. I think you must be playing in one of the independents, rather than in a chain casino such as Gala.

Feel free to PM me.

Good cards.
