hi folks, needing a bit of help with the strategy indices for hi-lo,
The casinos i play have the same rules, 6 decks, 80% pen,DAS, double 9,10,11 only, no surrender,lose only original bet to dealer blackjack,
i have been watching the Semyon Dukach M.I.T dvd and have been reading professional blackjack by stanford wong, Wong says he only usually learns indices form -1 to +6 so i decided that would do for me just now, and i am also aware of the illustrious 18, i have decided on these strategy changes, any comments??

12v6 hit <=-1
13v2 hit <=-1
12v4 hit >= 0
16v0 stand >=0
12v3 stand >=+2
9v2 double >=+2
11vA double >=+2
12v2 stand >=+3
15v10stand>=+4
9,9vA split >=+4
9v7 double >=+5
10vA double>=+5
16v9 stand>=+5
9,9v7 split>=+5
10,10v6 split>=+5
10,10v5 split>=+6

Does having no hole card effect any strategy changes , and am i just aswell learning all the Ilustrious 18 indices, i assume that the illustrious 18 are the most profitable strategy changes, that is why everybody recommends them, the thing is, there are differences is some of the strategy numbers from different people, is there a generic set of numbers for the Illustrious 18???:confused:

Also, why for the no hole card game do you only split 8's to a 9 but never verus a 10,Ace, and never split AAv A???? i dont understand these plays???

Maybe I am wrong, but I think it's because there can't be a dealer's peek when there is no hole card. But since you only loose your original bet on a dealer's blackjack it's almost the same as having a peek since it removes the advantage of the dealer's blackjack, so I guess you should not learn something different as technically a game with peek is the same thing as a game without peek but that take only original bet on dealer's blackjack.

Maybe I am wrong tho, I am still pretty new to all this so don't rely on me too much :laugh:

i'm not exactly sure on the issue of modification of the I18. i believe if you raise the indice number for the positive indices and lower the indice number for the negative indices that you reduce the risk and fluctuation that is inherent with respect to making the departure. i believe Zengrifter referred to such a manuever with respect to doubling 10v10,A .
i think you would be going a bit backwards on these that you posted:
12v6 hit <=-1
13v2 hit <=-1
12v4 hit >= 0

i believe the posting i made with regard to I18 earlier is about the most generic form
