Here's a recent email exchange I had with someone - its not untypical and underscores the reason why I "bark" at posters sometimes. zg

What the FUCK are you talking about?? The 1D at MGM
is a 6:5 game!

You really need to know where you are going to play in
advance -AND- NOT pick one of the busiest holidays!.

You don't like getting emails from members, or do you just not like getting asked "dumb questions"?

An aversion to wasting time?

This person wants to know where the good games are, but apparently wouldn't recognize one if he saw it. Also, it sounds like he might be one of those accursed recreational players. :p

I feel like something of an idiot since I believed that a busy weekend would actually be an ideal time to hit Vegas. It wasn't me who wrote zg about playing conditions (I'm stuck at home working), but wouldn't a conference or a batch of tourists provide some nice cover?
Dress like them, act like them, hit the casino when their conference ends?
Blend in with the Pipe Fitters Local 101 ... what more could you ask for? :D

I am not alone

I am not alone in being one of the many posters to this website who really appreciates Zengrifters contributions of reference articles, information websites, comments, and replies to the many questions that he has answered. He has indirectly helped myself and many others with his experence and infinite wisdom, in improving our game.
However this is an open forum for anyone inwhich includes rank amatures. Unfortunatly their are some people who know so little about the game that they could never comprehend the answer to their own question. So they only reply back with more questions, or do not reply back at all. If I were to reply at all to those questions it would be short and sweet, such as "I would not recommend playing anywhere on crowded a Holiday weekend". Or this may be a good answer "online gambling is illegal at any age so waiting until you are 21 will not help. The other point is some questions or comments are better left alone, and unanswered.

Busy weekend = crowded tables, which is not good! The extra cover (if any) isnt worth the worse conditions.

On the other hand, there are a couple of advanced techniques which are more effective in crowded conditions. As long as you can get a seat within your betting range.

I find it easier to wong in when the tables are crowded. I feel like a dick standing behind a mostly empty table waiting for the count to go positive, especially when the dealer keeps glancing at me wondering if I plan on jumping in or not.
Yeah, it's possible that finding a seat will be difficult ... but not having to play through negative counts is a huge plus in my book.
