Revenue from Pa slot parlors topped revenue from AC casino's in Decemeber 2009, for the first time. Don't these AC nitwits have to wake up at some point and begin to offer better games and incentives and actually compete for these players or are they just going to fade away to nothing?

How many 'slot parlors' are we talking about? There are ten AC casinos, right? So are we comparing that to fifty parlors or what? I have no idea how many parlors there are.

I'm just arguing too, like th Rock, too.

But, I think PA does have the highest HA for slots of any machine in the country?!

What with PA charging so much of every buck.
I have no idea about HA for slots as I have never placed even one quarter in a slot machine. Very foreign to me. But the point is that AC has clearly lost all this slot business to Pa. and within a matter of months, similar will happen with table games. At some point don't these brains have to say "hey we need to market to and entice these very people back? I don't thing just putting up a billboard outside the Sands Bethlehem will do it, as Borgata did. They need to make their places more attractive to play at with better games and offers and payout.

The HA for PA slots is very high, perhaps similar to the slots at McCarran airport ;) I guess the mindless drones don't notice. Another interesting thing is out of the 9 PA casinos, only 2 of them are within a 2 hour drive of AC - Phila Park and Harrahs Chester. The Pocono-area casinos are 3-4 hours away and the rest are 6-12 hours by car. So, only 2 of them are competing for the day-trippers, which is the bulk of AC's slot business.

Thats just not true. 5 years ago there were day trip buses to AC from communities all over the eastern half of Pa. Places like scranton, quakertown, allentown, pottstown, bethlehem, coatesville, lancaster, reading, harrisburg gettysburg and on and on that either no longer run to AC or dont run as regularly. The same senerio takes place to the south as many, many daily bus trips from delaware and maryland no longer head to AC or have reduced there frequencies opting for places like delaware park instead.

with the state charging a 53% tax on all the slots i think they have to run with a high house advantage in order to make any money at all. I guess the pittsburgh casino is struggling at this point. I just hoping with the 16% tax on the table games that they run games with decent rules... though i doubt it. I can't wait to see the tables in action but i'll be really pissed if they roll out csm's. People here love the virtual blackjack that reshuffles a 6 deck shoe after every hand so i wouldn't be surprised to see nothing but CSM's
