Just curious what the norm is for poker comps...I'm sure different places have different rules, are they mainly just pit giveaways like free buffet or coffee shop or can you accumulate casino player "points"? Any thoughts appreciated:grin:

Just my limited experience...

Where I play, at the lowest levels you earn 60 cents per hour of play. At higher levels you earn a little more. The only useful way to make use of the $$$$ seems to be by ordering food or drink.

I could use the comps for the valet service, but I don't like other people driving my car.

I'm not sure there is a norm. Some places do have them - I hear that Caesars Palace in Las Vegas offers $1/hr comps. But then again, CP rakes $1 more per pot than normal.

I read the Aladin gave $2.5 per hour. I have never been to Vegas, and I don't think the Aladin exists anymore, so I don't know how true it is.

Tunica is higher. $2 an hour at a lot of places, I think. Horseshoe will just comp a buffet if you play for a few hours.

In your experiences, do places typically give you anything more than the what appears standard $1 / hr? If you ask for a buffet comp or something of that nature after 3-5 hours, any good responses? Or do they just say you get the $1/hr comp...

You're right: the Aladdin is now Planet Hollywood. That's all I know about this subject

good luck
