Splitting question

#1
Last night I had two eights against a 3, so I split. I received a 7 to the first 8 so I stood. I received another 8 to the second 8 but the dealer didn't allow me to resplit because he said it must be consecutive 8s. Is this correct?

Dealer has no clue what he is talking about i highly doubt there is such a rule. "Resplitting" of the hand means splitting an already split hand, the order is irrelevant. Next time, i would call for the pit boss.
