Spread

If it is ok with the crowd, I'd like to periodically throw a topic out there to see how different people approach it. Maybe we can talk about the pros and cons of our techniques and get some insight into what is out there. I'll start with the topic of Spread.

What spread do you use and at what counts? How has this been good or bad? Anything you have tried or seen that has really gotten ugly?

Me:
I use a 1-4 spread. I try to match my spread with the count. When the count is 4+ I'll go to 5 or 6, but it is always followed by a ploppy line of BS.

This works for me because I am a relative rookie at this game and it helps me keep a handle on all of the variables we must keep track of throughout a game.

You?

It's not "ok." how about you use the search function on the website to find answers to your simple questions?

welcome to bjinfo, noob.

It is o.k. I use the KISS III count. I play 6 deck shoes and spread 1-10. My bet ramp goes 1-3-5-8-10, the bets increasing as the count rises of course.
I find if I toke a little before an increase I don't hear "CHECKS PLAY" much.
Good cards!:joker:

Check #2 from KingHenry from the above old thread. In short, you will earn 1.5 units per hour when you spread 10 to 1 and earn 3 units per hour when you spread 20 to 1, assuming you play all, no wonging. And this is for multi deck.

For me, I spread 16/20 to 1 for 6/8D and 11 to 1 for DD. But I flat bet in the first 15 and 20 minutes because that is when pit bosses come to watch you play and size you up. They will go away when they think the casino is safe from you.

My game is not as strong as most on here, I wholly admit that. But I've developed a reputation as a steaming gambler who chases losses or bets big on "streaks", so I get virtually zero heat which lets me get away with some wild spreading. My spread on a $10 game is 1-30 (2x150) and close to that on a $15 game (2x200). (This is on the PA 6 or 8 deck shoes, for reference.)

Is this single deck? You wont be making money using this spread without wonging at multi-deck.

For 6 decks I play almost all hands and spread 1-30. I ramp as follows... 1, 3@TC1, 2x4@TC2, 2x6@TC3, 2x8@TC4, 2x10@TC5, and 2x15@TC8. I'm a red chipper btw... Higher denomination players will find it harder to get away with this spread.

Bet Spread

DD, other players at table, beginning shuffle and negative counts, min bet. Positive Counts with 2 units start at + 1 if @ 1 3/4 DR, 1 to 8 spread, My max bet at + 5, bet 2 - 4 units @ + 1 to + 3, 5 to 7 units @ + 4. Higher units when more Aces remain, and when more fives have fallen.....

I thought this was a BJ forum where people interacted with each other ? We could all use the search and find what we want. All this has been hashed over and over if you think of it. Dribble.

Yeah, I just prefer conversations to research. That whole silly "community" thing. We all have to have something in common around here, no?

It makes sense to be a bit more conservative at your local playground to me. Does anybody play different ways in different places?

Also, I never considered playing two hands as a part of spread. But, now that the obvious has been pointed out to me...
