Atlantic City was packed this weekend, like I haven't seen in several years! :( So much so that after fighting the crowds all day Saturday, and finding limited play opportunities, I woke up and headed home early today. Good for them, bad for me. The boardwalk was packed, the traffic on the streets was at a standstill and it was difficult maneuvering the casino floors. Both at the north end of the boardwalk and at the Borgata. I guess this was due to the nice weather, although there was the state high school wresting championships and a camping convention in towm as well. I guess I just picked a bad time to come back east. Hopefully conneticut will be better this week. (mid week) I'll give AC another try during the week next week.

The crowds are a result of few AC attractions in March, plus the first weekend in the 50's after February's 3 snowstorms! i) This March 6 & 7th was AC Home and Garden Show; iii) RV & Camping Show; iii) February 28-March 6, 2010 was AC Restaurant Week, and some are extending it; and, more stuff later...Atlantic-10 Mens Torney March 12-14; Carrie Underwood March 19; Celebration of Suds (AC Beer Festival March 20 & 21); Het's Tennis Classic at Boardwalk Hall April 10. Edit: maybe Ballys WWW March 13th and Showboat's Saturday h17 bj torney adding crowds, or the eat-all-day buffet promotions (at Taj).

kewlj,

Saturday in CT was packed.

By 10am both MGM and FW, the few tables open in each casino were all full. I've noticed lately they have only a few tables open early on Saturdays and they have all been crowded.

The Newport Room, which had only 4 tables at $50mins all had at least 4-5 boxes played and 6 tables at $100 min had 1 empty, 2 heads up, and the other 3 with 3 players each.

MGM HL had a couple players at each table, but not crowded around 12pm.

Mohegan at 12:30pm Saturday:
Earth was packed, not a single table less then 4 players, High Limit room in earth was packed too, not a single table with less then 4 players.

Sky, the pits dont open until ~1:30 on Sat and they filled up fast, the NMS $25 pit was not too crowded, but all the bad dealers were on shift Sat. afternoon so not a single good game available out of ~12 tables.

Wind at 1pm was packed too.

I hear during the week the place is deserted with many tables open. I wonder how true this really is.

There is apparently no recession in the New England area.

Feb 20/21 weekend in AC was packed as well. We were in Southern Jersey for a couple other activities and popped into a couple locations both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning to "cash coupons". Both times were packed, and the weather was nothing special.

good luck :joker:

Recently, Foxwoods and MGM have been all but unplayable during the week due to crowding. Most tables are closed and and the open tables are packed full. You can forget about backcounting, it has to be a camp-out with Wonging out of extreme negatives, and very slow play due to the particular clientele.
