The Long Run - And Other Fiction

There's something to be said for this article. I'll leave that to others.

I do wonder, however, who is the bigger gambler: the player who, despite the slightly negative expectation, hopes that she will be among the lucky few who do better than expected; or the player who hopes that she will be among the lucky few who can successfully extract a slightly positive expectation from the game, given all the odds against her. Both are unlikely to succeed in the long run, or even get to the long run, where success or failure can be determined with any reliability.

On this Thanksgiving eve, I am grateful for the joy that results from the challenge of the game, and the excitement of pursuing an elusive goal that few believe possible, and even fewer can realize.

I believe you reap what you sow. Not taking a pro active attack on playing advantages will most likely kill most counters. Just sitting around waiting and hoping to get advantages, will not work for most even if they play it right. Whats reality and what is statistically sound don't jive for most real world players. Thats the truth in why all but a very few will play this game for a long term profit. Some will win, some will lose, most won't even know why. Thats the truth.

In the long run, a few APs on this site together will wipe out all casinos. Others will have to wait until after the next big bang to reach their long run.

not really, we will keep rehashing the same ole stuff that everyone knows, but there is stuff only a few know and some of that just might leak out a bit.

edit: and i'm not saying it me that knows anything.

edit: edit: like kewl, with your experience, certainly there is something to learn that everyone doesn't already know. so it is with others around here, i do know that.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with...Google
Yes SD, thankyou, I shall google more often. Although as you can see what time this post was made. I just got off a day of work. Left the farm at 7 this morning, and 2hr 20minute drive to work, ie casino/or as you guys call it store, worked all day and now its time for a few hours of sleep. Some friends have invited me to eat turkey, they are cooking 2 of them, so i guess drive back 2hrs n 20 min. Have to be there by 2 pm , we will have a good time though, and then probably back to store by 9pm. AAAAhhhh what i do for friends,, they just don't understand why i would do such stuff, all this driving.....
To put it in perspective from your window,,,,,, DD deck , all the rules you want, and deal the whole deck........ oh yeah lets throw in a 5 for 2 BJ......
Hey sagefrog 5 for 2 LMAO that's for you buddy.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now who wouldn't do what i am doing for a game like that..
Sorry i can't divulge details on what exactly i might be doing in my store.....

Night all or i guess morning all, hell i am going to sleep

Yes this thread has went to hell, I think it should be blamed on the Bash people they are just so damn happy......LOL

Running Short = Running Long

:joker::whip:

If you play for the short term, high DI & hi score you are also playing to the long run, they are related.

However, if one looks at each short term session as a career then they can be hurting themselves greatly by not having consistency in play over time.
