Lots of DD tables at Cosmo. Its a nice looking casino. I personally prefer it from a look / feel over Aria.

Outside DD tables are 25 min w/ H17 - HL DD tables are 200 min w/ S17

while surveying and watching tables...

-

Story:

Player at outside table betting two hands of 40 (80 on the felt). Nearing the cut card, he drops to one hand of 250. I suspect that you win @blackjack when you are getting your splits / doubles when the count is higher and you have your bigger bets out. So either you win or it hurts.

Dealer shows A.

Player gets 16 (8 8).

He splits 8s
(8 8) - 500 on felt now

Dealer deals another 8 so he splits again. Not happy since he is looking at a dealer Ace up.

(8 8 8) - 750 on felt now

Dealer deals another 8 so he splits again. Really Not happy since he is still looking at a dealer Ace up.

(8 8 8 8) - 1000 on felt now

Dealer starts giving out the up cards. Starting all cowboys.

(K8 K8 K8 8)

Final hand, dealer gives him another 8. Apologies that he can't split again. Player concerned that he can't split. And can't surrender (DD rules). And worries that he might take the dealer bust card. Long pauses. Pit critter smirking.

He take a hit. Dealer gives him a 9 and he busts that last hand

((K8 K8 K8 889-bust).

Dealer slow flips her down card. Its an Ace. It the player didn't take the hit on the last hand, the dealer would have had 21. ya never know
Dealer - (A A)

Player - ((K8 K8 K8 889-bust)

Dealer takes another card - its a 5. Dealer has 17, but since outside tables are H17, she's got to pull again

Dealer - (A A 5)

Player - ((K8 K8 K8 889-bust)

Dealer pulls something high 7 8 9 10 and busts.

Player wins

Be very careful with this game, I would deffinately say from personal experience that this is the sweatiest game on the strip. However if you do end up playing it, some dealers will allow late surrender.

I had the opposite experience when I was there for CES. The pit seemed to have a hard time keeping track of their regular duties, they didn't seem to notice my bets at all. (1-15 spread, played for a couple of hours) They were friendly, as was I.

When I first got there I asked if surrender was offered, the dealer didn't know, asked a floorman, he didn't know, it took 3 pit people to finally come up with no it isn't offered. The next dealer allowed me to surrender with no objections (figured I try it).

It was dealt face up and the dealer that let me surrender gave good penetration. The table was crowded, though, so still not ideal.

Also, not sure if you noticed, but they expose the opposite card than most places (2nd card dealt to the dealer) and one of the dealers messed up a couple of times and blatantly exposed the hole card to first & third base.
