Enjoyable read!

Seems like you guys spent a lot of money on taxis (and midget hookers  ) Perhaps next time you should rent a car (or two) for travel, especially for the better off-strip games.

Is getting backed off almost everywhere you play standard treatment in Vegas? Have other people had similar experiences?
It hasn't been my experience, but it varies by casino, bet level, type of game and length of sessions. The better double deck games are pretty protected.

Thank you for posting this - it was very insightful as to what to expect, especially to someone who's never actually went out and counted before.

Don't know if this was the problem or not, but: If you get backed off at one of the MGM properties, and go into another MGM property using the same name, you will probably be rather quickly backed off there also. The same is true for all of the Harrah's properties, and for everywhere else that owns more than one casino.

If you're betting SO much that you're doing some REAL damage, they'll even circulate a flyer with your picture, and it won't matter WHAT name you use.

Well dude, I hope you learned something from this trip. This was no professionally run assault by far. Its okay if you are some college dudes out to play the part and have some fun, but if you are planning to be more than that, you better tighten it up quick boy or you may be playing church bingo for pennies sooner than later. And please, getting scared off by a ploppy instead of playing a good game, grow a set son or sit in the keno room and stare at TV all day. That should be less threatening.

Some ok stuff kid, but don't get too happy with yourself. A trip like you described may be cool for civilian style play, but it doesn't cut it for real heavy AP work. But its a start, just don't make these kind of trips habits. If you learn something maybe you got a chance.

By the way David Copperfield? Really? What, was Barry Manilow sold out?

Thanks everyone!

And Maz, I never said it was a professionally run team. In fact I said that I had never done this before. It was a learning experience for me and I am not satisfied with the result because I know we could have done better.

Nice read.

It's funny how you made about $2,000 in Blackjack, which you split with your teammates after all your combined hard work, and then won $900 in craps based on luck.

Thank you for the report, very well done, I am impressed.

I think you age was against you in those barrings,,,and you garnered attention because you look so much like a young Frankie Sinatra!

You have just had a very fine Life Experience that you will remember for the rest of your life and you have shared it with all your friends here,,,very nice!:)

Now as to the barrings, where you and I live we cannot afford to be barred as we do not have that many casinos with good games to play, we must be careful and slowly bleed them while having a very nice time, save the all out play for other venues.

Don't take this the wrong way as I don't mean it deridingly, but I couldn't help but think of South Park when I read, "... and then the cloth fell and David Copperfield was in the box on a Motorcycle! Sick!" If only there were an unfortunate accident killing a boy in parka...

It's a bit unrelated, but "when one pays a visit it is for the purpose of wasting other people's time, not one's own."

A couple of questions and comments:

1) What was your unit bet?

2) and your total amount of play? in terms of hours? hands? whichever / whatever you like...

--

Its better not to get backed off when you are using a players cards. Even if you get more players cards. You really don't want to be on flyers. The casino can continue to reference those flyers later on.

You do mention some casino names at the end of your report.

If you are going to travel between casinos, its best not to do it between sister properties if you have been backed off. For example back before TI was sold, if you got backed off at TI and then just took the tram next door to Mirage, surveillance very well just follows you to Mirage and Mirage will stop your play. Better to just go from TI over to WynCore.

Vegas Casinos

Personally, I don't think that mentioning casinos by name hurts that much. Of course some people draw the line on particular shifts or pits, etc.

That being said, I also don't think it is a big secret that on the Strip Harrah's offers a terrible game of blackjack and MGM and WynCore offer a decent game of blackjack.

I would also say that Red Rock and M and other casinos catering to locals are more likely to be nicer in terms of back-offs although I think YMMV greatly depending on who is working the shift.

It seems like you had a nice time. Thanks for the writeup.

Very nice!!! sounds like a great adventure! Now a couple of things, nit picking I suppose.

I thought you said you weren't going to mention casino names? then you do it anyway in your summary.

Also, I'm a grammar nerd. Please stop saying "So me and Mark went to dinner..." you wouldn't say "So me went to dinner..." would you? Please say Mark and I.

Are you careless about longevity or are you trying to learn how to do it better? I couldn't tell from the tone in your blog.

Other than that, right on! :flame::flame::flame:

So less than 1 unit / hour. Totally within expectations.

Still shows how much variance can kill you.

I am surprised though that your base unit was $25 given your bankroll.
