Vegas Trip In December

#1
I'll be visiting Vegas in 3 weeks and I was wondering if you can recommend any great places on the strip for blackjack that offers the best odds/highest advantage to a card counter. Thanks!

(Please only reply if your knowledgable about the Vegas Strip area and is an experienced card counter, thanks!)

I just got back from Vegas and would recommend The Mirage (s17,das, 60-65%) and NY, NY (h17, das, 60%) for DD and Monte Carlo for 6 deck (s17, das, ls, rsa, 75-80%)

Be sure to check the felts at Monte Carlo before you sit down. Last time I was there they had a mix of H17 and S17 6D tables. The S17 tables were more toward the back of the gaming floor.

El Cortez, but not if you are a counter betting black.
Plaza is said to have a few good games, but they are back towards the poker room, not in the main BJ area, and The Western(but the walk from the Fremont Street Experiance can be daunting at nite.
Overall,if you are a red-green chipper,El Cortez should suit you just fine.Their reputation as a real sweatshop seems to be pretty much a thing of the past.

Downtown Games

I agree re: the 'Tez-- I felt no heat during a few 1/2 hour sessions there, with some black action and one fairly big session win-- though you should note that I was not playing aggressively at all. There's not a big variation in the 2D games downtown (almost all H17 NDAS with a little less than a deck cut off), but pen at the California is pretty good from some of the dealers, and there is DAS and generally pen at the Plaza. There are better 2D games if you have a car to get to the off-strip stores, as well as plenty of great 6D S17 surrender games on the strip if you play green chips.

The worst games are closest to the main entrances to catch the suckers who will not look for better games.
The best games are generally located towards the rear and close to the cage.
There are exceptions but this is a pretty good guideline when dealing with casinos with both good and bad games.

$10 MGM S17 Game

If your a red chip player, MGM had s17 early surrender good pen @ about 5 am on a Saturday.

They actually have had that most times I've been there (which is always during the slow times of year). Mandalay Bay has several S17 surrender games at $15 most of the time-- more expensive, but just as good of a game, and with much less crowded conditions. As an added plus, you will not get sick to your stomach there like you will at MGM's buffet.

I know this might sound strange, but, what exactly is this "penetration"?
Penetration is how deeply they deal into the shoe. The less cards they cut off from the back, the deeper the penetration. A card counter will want to see as many cards as possible before they shuffle so deeper penetration will bring greater profits.
