What do you do when 1/4 deck is burned in 2D games?

Recently encountered such terrible method of burning cards at double deck games at some of the casinos in Reno where the dealers burned at least 1/4 of a deck right off the top. I stopped playing as soon as I saw that move.

Is there any article or book that explains an effective strategy on how to play these games? Or do we just not play them at all? Thanks.

The 1/4D burn is not meaningful of itself - what we care about is total pene. If for example the house burns 1/4D and then deals out 6/4D, the net pene is a favorable 75%. zg

Why would they burn that many cards? The only reason I could think of would be to make it look like they are giving good penetration when they really aren't.

It makes it easier to hold the 2D pack also. zg

I saw that move at Fitzgerald's a year or so ago but they pulled the handfull of cards off the bottom, not the top though it really wouldn't make any difference unless you were tracking a slug or watching aces or something.
