Plain and simple, I would love to know: What's the most you've won from the lowest amount?

Say you had $50 but with incredible luck and canny betting you won $300 or you had £100 and managed to work your way up to £700. It could be at a real casino or online casino!
i can only give my highest result by sessions. once i pulled $330 from one session but that was before i developed the self discipline to not allow myself to steam. so that was won the wrong way.
the most i've pulled out of a session the right way was $224 .
i pretty much allways have a session bankroll of $300 .
i play only nickle tables unless i'm wonging in.

best regards,

Where did you find a game like that?

a few years back I was wasting time at the Avi south of laughlin, playing
s.f.21. I talked the dealer into dealing right through one deck and use the discard tray for any extra cards to finish out the last hand. I went up about to 350. that was after I bought in for their $40 for $50 promo.

Its not that rare to end up alot. My best is $50 to $400.

Its not rare to see this happen because blackjack is almost a 50/50 game. A little luck can go a long way.

I mentioned in another post, but my biggest percentage win was my FIRST time in a casino. At Circus Circus at Reno, I took $40 to $2100 in about 6 hours of play. This was before I learned good BS, and was using my "special" progression betting where I was betting %10 of my trip bankroll at every hand! so when I got up to $1000 I was betting blacks, but I never had the balls to go higher than that when I got up to $2000

I went to my hotel room 4 times that night, winning hundreds at each trip. Took my clothes off each time and crawled into bed, but COULD NOT SLEEP because I saw myself winning millions :D and was wondering how the casinos could just give away money like that. When I finally came back to the room for the last time, my wife was just getting up, and pissed off because I gambled all night. She wasn't mad for long as I pulled out two handfuls of blacks from my pocket.

My subsequents trips to Reno were all losers, significant ones to boot!

Yeah my $50 to 400 was on my first trip at counting, I knew BS and hi/low and was confident. Looking back I had an insane amount of doubles.

A few sessions later I went in and dropped $200 without doubling once, and I was only playing a hands that were +2 or better.

Anyway keeping track of your wins and losses is everything. I have kept track or mine, and considering an house edge of 0.5% the chance I have won the winnings I have un luck alone over over 1000:1, so I am pretty confident I am doing something right :)

A salesman who used to work for me would get that way, but he played slot machines.
sure he would win every once in a while.
but WOW he sure knew how to lose.
It got where he would stay at the casino all night until all his money was gone.
in the morning he would figure out a way to sell a contract, or hustle me.
personally I recommend not getting too "high" or too "low" emotionally.

I played on a Louisiana river boat once when I turned 3 red chips into 100 red chips. This took me about 1.5 hours. I had a little game going to see how high I could stack the reds. I started out by drawing to 21 five times in a row. The dealer was busting frequently and I also ket making great hands. I sure wish I was playing greens that day!

Last night-best ever (for me)

Last night I was playing poker, doing pretty lousing (DAMN FLUSH DRAW CHASERS!!!)

Anyway, I have $15 left, and figured, lests see how Blackjack will do for me.

Sat down at the $5 table, first hand Blackjack! Second hand 11 vs a 6. Third hand BlackJack! Fourth hand, 8's split three time, two caught 3's for a double down! etc etc.

I got up to ~$400, not including the 10 or so i had tipped with. Went I hit a loosing streak that brough me down to ~$350 fast. Then something happened, and entire round was played, with some splits and 5-6 card draws with not a ten to show itself. The next round, only ONE ten showed up. I look at my $350, feel saucy and drop a 50 bet (i've been 5-betting the whole time) Blackjack!! for a $75 win!!

Played a little more and dwindeled. Left with $405 from $15.

My best session ever, and that'll be tough to beat for sure.

Before I started counting, I played nickels at AmeriStar and had lost $50 on a table upstairs. It was late and I was headed back to the room for some sleep when I saw an empty 6-D table downstairs. I had a couple of red chips left. I played that $10 to a point at which I'd won the $50 I'd lost and ratholed it. I continued to play but instead of flat betting after winning the $50, I let all wins ride. They called "cheques play" on me with an $80 bet out which I won. The dealer told me I ought to take my money and run...so I did. I guess that would be a run from $10 to $220.

Bought in for $40, left about 3 hours later with $540...and a T-shirt. It probably helped that suited BJs were paying 3:1. I colored up for a purple chip and kept it as a lucky charm.

Happy Birthday Terrible's!!! :celebrate

Sonny, wasn't it you who had to make a mad dash through a casino to get a house tee-shirt because you were wearing a BJ Yen-Yang shirt and had lost your luggage or something? This wouldn't be the same episode would it?

Yeah that was me, but this was a completely different adventure. I accidentally stumbled into the Wild Wild West casino with my Blackbelt in BJ shirt on. I purposely showed up at the 3:1 BJ party. After all, when a casino decides to give away money, I'M THERE!

I won't embarass myself by telling the Santa Clause at the Western story...

$380 in < 10 minutes at $5 table

Last night I was ready to leave the casino. Went and found my wife. She wanted to play the slot machine she was on till she was down to $200 or got to the bonus round. I said ok, I'll find a table on the way out and stop by and get me when you come leave.

I bought in for $100(out of my $230 profit) at a $5 table. After about 10 minutes I was down to $70 betting a flat $10. Then my wife came by and said she had to turn in her points, cash a payout ticket and go to the bathroom. I said ok, I'll be there in about 5 minutes. So, I decided to up my bet a little and have a little fun. Figured I'd either win a little or at least not have to go to the cashier. Less than 10 minutes later I took $450 to the cashier's cage.

I think I started with $20, then after winning I'd take about half the winnings and add it to the bet. I basically kept it so I would have enough to double down. Don't remember what happened for the next couple hands. I do know at $90 I got a BJ and stuck the green chips I was paid in my pocket. The next bet was $115 which I ended up doubling for a $230 win. 2 more black chips went in my pocket. Then I did a table max($195) bet, 39 red chips tall. The first card was an A followed by 3. Dealer had a 10. I hit the 14 and got a 3 for 17. Hit again and got a 10 for 17. Dealer of course had a 20 so I lost that.

I don't know that pushing the max bet out there was the right thing. I was just riding the wave. But I had a lot of fun doing it and I still left the casino $580 up for the day.

Almost Broke

I was on a DD, $50 minimum table and in the game for $1000. I was down to my last $50, as the dealer shuffled up. There were two of us playing and I did not loose a hand in that shuffle or the next. Walked away with $4700.

About a week ago I was playing at a couple different tables for about 10 hours straight, and ended up turning $120 into $400.

Pretty good for only being able to use basic strategy!

I ran a $100 BR into about $300. Yeah, I know that's a pittance but with $15 minimums that's almost 13 winning hands. That was after like 6 hours of playing. :whip:

That's what inspired me to learn card-counting and other BJ techniques. I haven't played since I've taught myself basic counting strategy. I want to go up sometime soon and put my new found talents to practice. :D

How much should I bring? $5000? $10,000?

Just kidding.

Big wins and BIG WINS!

In BJ my biggest wins with small amounts were not hands but sessions. Started one session with a $130 buy in and cashed out with $900. Another BJ session I bought in for $200 and cashed out with $1000.
Most fun and biggest amount won per hand were....
Playing three card poker on a cruise. Bought in with $50. Was betting $5 min per spot (the pair plus, the ante and the play) for a total of $15 per hand.
First hand was a flush, small pay out.
Second hand was a 10,J,Q straight flush. Pair plus paid 40:1, ante paid 4:1 and play paid even, total won was $225.
Third hand was three 3s. Pair plus paid 30:1, ante paid 3:1, and play paid even, total won was $170.
We even talked the PB into taking these pics.
I played one more hand (lost $15) and walked....WOOOHOOOO!

Last weekend, family was visiting and we went to a local Indian Casino.

Took $100 of my Mom's money to a $15 table, won about $45, and left quickly before I blew it all, and returned to her the prinicpal plus $20 in winnings.

So $25 winnings from zero is pretty good in my book. :)

My first few visits to the casino were incredibly lucky. I didn't even know some of the soft hand basic strategy, and I certainly didn't know how to count cards. I was also playing with continuous shufflers. Here were my two big wins, within the first 4 visits ever:

$20 buy in at $5 tables: +$180
$40 buy in at $10 tables: +$960

<insert "priceless" line here>

Needless to say, the blackjack bug burrowed itself into me pretty friggin' deep.

Lowest amount?

Just got back from a casino here in Oklahoma, Lucky Star. I didn't play because it has the fifty-cent ante. But I did stand behind the players and practice my counting as I have done many times in the past.

There was a man in his early to mid-20's who sat down with $40. This guy wasn't counting (at least anything that I could figure out) and there was one other player at the table with him. He finished that first shoe and made about $200 betting $10 to $20 a hand. He stuck $160 in his pocket at that point.

Then the guy went into big risk-taking mode. He bet his entire wad on the first hand of the shoe and won. Then he started betting either $5 or half his wad. He won two bets in a row in which he bet half his wad (adjusting his bet to include the amount he just won). Then he won a five dollar bet. At this point the guy says "gee I should of bet the whole thing" then proceeds to lay down the whole thing. The dealer said "sorry sir, but that exceeds the table limit". The guy lays down $200, get 11 vs. dealer's ten and he doubles for less and wins. He kept betting either five, $100 or the table max of $200. I think he only lost a max bet once and didn't lose a $100 bet AT ALL. When he did lose he only had a $5 bet out.

He was doing all sorts of crazy stuff and not just crazy against the count but crazy for anyone but the most inexperienced newbie, i.e..

  • double on hard 14 against a 5 and catching a 6 with $200 bet
  • standing on a total of 8 when the dealer showed a ten with $200 bet
  • splitting 5's and catching not one but two 6's and doubling on both hands catching a ten for each hand with $200 bet
  • hitting a hard 17 and catching a 4 then the dealer turned a 20, etc.!
  • He keeps saying "it's only money and even if I lose I will still have more than doubled my money" (after he took the original $40 plus $120 more and stuck it in his pocket)

He was doing things real quick, standing/hitting and not even looking at which card he was dealt (just waiting for the dealer to give him chips or take them), doubling, putting up $200 or leaving just $5 as his bet. It's like he wasn't even thinking about things just doing them.

Stuff like this leads me to believe he wasn't counting or had any idea of how to play blackjack. If he was doing anything counting or strategy-wise it's completely beyond anything I know or even heard of.

The floorperson and EVERY OTHER CASINO PERSONNEL in that pit were watching this guy close after the first $1500 but he kept doing what he was doing. The floorperson kept saying "Now I think he just bit off more than he can chew, this is where it starts to catch up to him" but the guy kept winning.

About 40-45 minutes after he sat down and at the middle of the third shoe he has about $9,000. At this point a girl with a take-out carton from the restaurant in the casino walks by and says "I got my sandwich, sorry it took so long, I know you don't want to be here, let's go". He cashes out and leaves.

$9,000 in about 45 minutes without counting or without following basic strategy whatsoever. I wonder how much he could of made if the limit wasn't $200 as this guy was trying to bet more but couldn't. $9,000 is only 45 $200 units so I guess it isn't impossible. I have gone up 50 units a few times before. But how he was playing, guessing the exact right time to lower his bets and when to hit/double/stand when the BS or count says to do otherwise is what is hard to accept. Pure luck from what I can tell.

I proceeded to sit down in that guy's spot for the rest of that shoe and lost 8 $5 bets in a row and 10 out of 12. The casino has two separate shoes of different color cards, dealing out of one while the other is being shuffled by a machine. I then backed off and waited for the other shoe to come back up. It came back up and I lost $125 on that shoe.

I guess you gotta strike while the iron's hot.
