What's with UBT Players

I've started playing the UBT online tournaments. On the "Sit and Go" open match's it seems most of the players bet max $25K on hand 1 and hope for a strong hand. Of course many lose and just go on to another game. The winners often just continue at max bet untill they pull ahead or go broke.

What do people think of this strategy? It may get the most games in for the chance of entries into scheduled events, but to me takes the fun out of playing.

People there usually play much more conservatively on the scheduled events.

ON the sit-n-go table that how it is, however if you win a table and can get and entry into a scheduled event the play is more realistic.

Yes, but it makes it a pain to get into the scheduled events. People also make crazy plays like splitting 10's vs 7-9 or even 10 when they're well ahead.

Sometimes you get a nice game in Sit And Go.

Yes, playing the free UBT games is torture. I finally stopped altogether, because the time and aggravation weren't adequately compensated with reward. You'll still find me playing lots of cash games at Bet21 though.

Yes, the sit games can be as painful as watching drunk ploppys in casinos double hard 17 v 9 AND WIN.!!!

Getting to round 1 or 2 is better, but still some maroons. (to quote Bugs Bunny)

I'll check out Bet21, but it costs $$ and you probably play better than me :) . Thanks.

My strategy is to bet low, 2,500 / 5,000 for the first 4 or 5 hands. By that time most of them have lost all their chips because they continue to make those max bets, and WILL eventually lose. And by that time the players that have a clue what they are doing can put up a good game. Works for me.

Yea, have done that and it probably is best if you want to play. I think the clueless ones just bet max to get tokens. Still, sometimes they get lucky and have $1K by the second hand. Then with a huge lead they do something like double 12 vs 9 AND WIN!!!
