Every casino should offer surrender. It would improve all of their bottom lines due to the ignorance of the ploppy contingent.
But so what if they gain $50,000 overall, what gripes them is that a handful of card counters are possibly eking out a few more dollars a day.

Before PA casinos opened, both Mountaineer and Wheeling Island had the same rule set: S17, 8 deck in main floor, 6 deck in HL room, DAS, DA2, no RSA, no LS. After PA casinos opened in July 2010, Mountaineer stays the same (this is your answer for the rule set, and penetration depends) but Wheeling Island tried to adapt and compete. They adapted late surrender as well as all PA casinos do. Then they opened 2 double deck tables as the loss leader. At first, these tables has $5 table minimal, so APs spread $5 to $500 and constantly made a fortune off it. The first step for Wheeling Island to curb the loss is to change table limit $10 to $300. But they still lost a lot of money, so they changed from S17 to H17 about two months ago. Still not doing too well, they took away Late Surrender in the beginning of July.
You know they will not be happy until they kill the game. That's their job.

It's like so many businesses I see. The owners do everything in their power to destroy their business, yet somehow some of them seem to stay in business no matter what lame brained measures they take. I was at a local bar a couple of weeks ago and one of the rail birds asked the owner for a channel change on one of the many TVs behind the bar. The owner quipped that if the customer wanted to see that channel he could go home and see it. Immediately ten people all got up and left. Sheer stupidity. But, they all returned the next day. :p It's hard to fathom.

6vs 5...wtf:eek:
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. I've seen an old asian guy surrender 6 v 5 in Blackjack.

I play in east Pa a lot. Many people use surrender correctly. I am rarely the only one at the table using it and the others that do usually use it intelligently. When you find someone using it wrecklessly the stupidity is seen in all their decisions.

Like doubling down on a hard 14...

"uh... er... I've tried playing it the right way, and all I do is lose... time to change things up... try something different... maybe this will work!"

duh!

Usually . They only surrender 16 v 9, 10, A and 15 v 10? Sure a lot surrender these decisions, but a lot of those same people will also surrender 15 v 9, 14 v 10, etc., or at least that's what it seems to me.

Or put it this, how few play BS perfectly? The number of players who also play surrender correctly are less than that.

If you really want to see if somebody knows their Basic Strategy surrender strategy, see if they surrender their 17 in a H17 game against a dealer Ace. It is kind of the surrender equivalent to doubling A8 vs. dealer 6 in H17 games.

The most annoying thing for me is when the ploppies notice that my hit card on my surrendered hand is a baby and yak at me, "that was your 5!", or some such.

No doubt. And sorry, BJG, I had engine trouble and had to bail out over AC.

I posted what you should do, BJG, on the other thread concerning this game. I am dropping out of the conversation.

Played the all four stores in that area over the weekend.

The praire was 67% pen, 6D looks like they used their old 8D shoes and cut at the same place using only 6 decks. Needless to say we didn't stick around there to long.

Between the island, mountain and rivers proved to be the best efforts. The praire on the other hand was my second worst house of the year.
