I've read through several BJ books, and while they all show basic strategy (not modified basic or otherwise - at least as they state it), presuming DD after split permitted, they differ on several points, such as
1) with a hard 9:
a)hit 2, double 3-6
b)hit 2,3, double 4-6
c)hit double 2-6
2) with a hard 12:
a)hit 2,3, stand 4-6
b)stand 2-6
3) with A3:
a)hit 2-4, double 5,6
b)hit 2,3, double 4-6
4) with A6:
a)hit 2,3, double 4-6
b)double 2-6
5) with hard 11:
a)always double
b)double except against A
6) with 33 or 66:
a)split 7 and under
b)split 3-6, hit against 2
c)split 3-7, hit against 2
d) for 66 only - split 6 and under
7) with 22:
a)split 7 and under
b)split 4-6, hit against 2,3
8) with 44:
a)never split
b)split against 5 only
c)split against 5,6
9) with 77:
a)split 7 and under
b)split 8 and under
Phew! I think that's all the differences I've found.
Doesn't leave basic so basic. These are all current books (read them at Barnes & Noble). Whose right?
