Maybe. One way that Alexa stats can be manipulated is to encourage repeat visitors to install the Alexa toolbar that gathers these statistics. Because the portion of the web-surfing public that uses that toolbar is low, the results can be more easily distorted.
However, Alexa provides the only publicly available estimates of web traffic. There are other more reliable services, but they charge quite a bit for access to their data.
The only surefire way to compare is to access the actual server logs. BlackjackInfo averaged a record 9379 visits per day in January. That's up from 8227 the month before.
