Wong out by depth

I just started playing with CVCX and was trying to use the Wong by depth feature. Here is a simple question: Are the numbers the number of decks IN (i.e. discard tray) or the number of decks left? Does the program check only at those points, or does it interpolate between these points? If it interpolates, what does it do during the first hands before there is a complete deck in the discard? Or does it use that first number during the entire first deck, the second number during the entire second deck, etc?

EDIT: After some experimenting it seems clear that it uses each wongout number during that particular deck.
