I will be going to Las Vegas in June, and thought it might be a good idea to spend some time Wonging in and out of Six Deck Shoes. I've heard reports that some Double Deck games are going 6:5 now, so I'd like to start hitting the Shoe games. I haven't seen too many postings about that here, so I wanted to see what you guys think of this idea...
I do know there are some quality Six Deck games offered in MGM Grand, Bellagio, and The Mirage for example. The rules are S17, DAS, DA2 (of course), and Late Surrender is offered. I believe resplit of Aces is as well, but I'm not positive. Not too sure about the penetration, but Bellagio and The Mirage give halfway decent penetration in their Double Deck games, so the Pen in the Shoes is probably playable. I'm hoping that I'll be able to easily jump in at favorable counts, and then excuse myself when the count worsens, or when the shoe is over. With heavy action tolerated on those properties, I don't anticipate much camoflouge being needed. I'll probably use a small spread ($25 to $100 maybe). Even if I flat bet at $50 for example, I'll still have the edge, and my standard deviation will be much lower than with a big spread. I use the Red Seven count by the way.
Please let me know if you guys have used the wonging strategy extensively in Las Vegas, and if you have any recommendations on casinos to try this at, let me know. And my apologies for the long message.
P.S. ZG, you may not remember me, but we played some Single Deck (and no, not 6:5, lol!) together by coincidence about this time last year downtown at Binion's. I've also read Barfy's book cover to cover, and it doesn't seem like you guys do much with the Six Deck Shoes...If you do and have some advice, I'm all ears!
