Wynn Comp System Details or Other Tips?

I will be visiting the Wynn in Las Vegas later this month. I have neither stayed nor played their previously and would appreciate any tips about the place that others would like to share--particularly information about what level of play garners what comps, etc.

I don't have any answers to your questions, but I do want to bring up another point to consider:

You may want to read up about a recent dispute between Wynn dealers and Wynn management about pooling tips. It may make you want to boycott or massively reward the joint, depending on your political convictions. :)

All I know is that they'll give you $10 free slot play if you give them an email address when you sign up for a players card and they won't comp you drinks while playing bartop VP.

Earn 50 points playing machines($250 slots or $500 VP) and get two dinner buffets. Thats quite a score for a signup bonus. I played long enough to earn 50 points and quit.

You can do it on a 7-hand video BJ machine (BJ - 1-1). I think that's the cheapest way to earn those points. I've heard people say video roulette, but I think the math works better on the BJ.

Beautiful place to stay. They use RFID chips to track your betting. 2D game is at least $50 min and H17. Cut off about 0.7 deck. I got backed off playing that game on the first day of stay. They also have 6d with 1.5d pen.

wynn comps

Not sure about Wynn's comp methods exactly, but I played there for a few hours at light black - on a few different trips - and could not even get a buffet from the pit or hosts. Then got an e mail offer for a suite and used it, but again was told I did not have enough play for a meal. Then got another offer for a suite, used it, and then a third time. Hosts told me suites were putting me into a negative balance, so no meals. Nice suites, though. Blackjack penetration has tanked lately as I understand it.

Got some clear, definite heat there, felt I was about to be backed off, but I rushed out the door. And played several times there since then, always rated, but the heat never reappeared, making me think they did not make an entry in my Red Card computer file the first time they figured me out. Or maybe they tolerate me since I may have a lifetime "losing" record there, aided by some ratholing. Of course, ratholing may be pointless with their RFID chips, since I always cash out totally after sessions.

Wynn's very best games are for $500 minimums.

Always check with the latest edition of C B J N
I believe this is true if FLASH is referring to Wynn's DD games. However, Wynn did have a S17 6D game which was $25 at off hours. The penetration also was different from that reported in CBJN.

At $25 a hand, the MGM properties' DD games are probably a better way to go, but I don't think that Wynn is necessarily a waste of time for those betting less than $500 a hand.

oh really?

how much better is the 500 min game? and which one are you referring to?
It is S17 instead of H17. A couple of tables are located inside of a high roller room. It is better rule but not necessary better game for most of us. The limit is just too high.

It's not too high for Drunken Double Your Bankroll or Die Trying.

If that's the game you want to play. :p

Drunken Double Your Bankroll or Die Trying.
Best. Name. For. A. BJ. Game. Ever.

But honestly, $500 min bet is insane (by my standards) especially when you have to bet that much to get S17. I think I'll be staying in Wynn's Macau joint instead of the Vegas one, in this situation!

Given you can get S17 liberal rules for $15 at Mandalay, I'd take THEHotel.

My response is probably too late and too little, but here it is. I get midweek comps from the Wynn about once a quarter. This is how. On busy nights, I wonged into shoes with a player's card at +3 with a $100 bet. During the shuffle, I'd pick up my chips and say "I'll be right back." Move on and wong other tables. I'm assuming they didn't close my account because I would be right back. Maybe another player sat down and I got credit for his play, maybe not. The point is, when they're busy, they don't always keep up on who's moving around. End result = low roller gets midweek promotions in the mail. I believe others have mentioned getting comped rooms as well, but I don't remember see anything about it in this thread.

#1 The min is really really high. If you are doing a 1 - 4 spread on DD, you
are doing 500 - 2000. 20 units is 10,000 when the casino will require your social security number for US citizens.

So I don't think that is really a game worth talking about...

#2 The main pit of double deck at the Wynn is H17. But next to that pit, if the tables are open are / used to be about 4 S17 tables. Usually one of those tables is also DD.

*rant on*

man...these half-truths/semi-false/misleading statements by some posters (not you peaegg) are maddening...

*rant off*

sorry

$100 bets DQ you from being a low roller.

It started as Double Your Bankroll or Die Trying, which was a game my friend created one year when some horrible coincidence of things happened to him in Vegas (he got pickpocketed, the shower konked out in the middle of his shower, and lost his watch in a club). He announced in the last two hours of the trip that he was going to either double his gambling bankroll (which was down to ~1/4) or "die trying," because going broke was only one step down from where the trip was. He went to a blackjack table, ordered TWO drinks (they wouldn't let him and we had to order one for him), and split his remaining money into thirds. He just kept betting 1/3 to 1/2 of whatever money he had and actually quadrupled his buy-in at one point (thus, almost breaking even for the trip). However, his degenerate friends :p encouraged him to live up to his promise - DOUBLE his bankroll or "die trying."

He didn't make it.

Later, he would claim that he was drunk (from two drinks - yeah, right) and that we took advantage of him for our own amusement. We countered that "Drunken Double Your Money or Die Trying" was entirely his invention.

It's become somewhat of a catchphrase among the group now. Whenever we're less than sober and it's late at night, someone will inevitably announce it's time for Drunken Double Your Money or Die Trying.

That's awesome. Is it wrong that I'm more amused by the fact that the story ended with him broke, as opposed to doubling his money?
