You've Got Heat

Just started reading this the other night. I have only read through 2 chapters so far but found a good point in it I thought I should point out. This is something Zengrifter told Barfarkel for advice. When I first started playing I was making the same mistake. Anyways even if you are only a red chipper and have a small bank roll you still need a good amount of money on you when you play. I remember when I was first starting I would bring 150-200 dollars even though I had a 2.5 k bankroll. The problem is in a lot of sessions your swings of how much your making will change drastically. When I first started I would play then when I lost that 150-200 dollars I would walk away. Sometimes you have to ride out the losses though before your swings will turn around. As a red chipper I always try to have at least 500 on me now. Just thought I would point this out to prevent anyone else from making the same mistake.

If you know approximately how many hours you will be playing then you can use a Trip ROR formula to estimate how much cash you will need to bring for the session. That way you won't have to worry about brining too much/too little cash to play. There is a good discussion of the formula in Blackjack Attack.

From my personal experience it does seem very important to have a sufficeint TRIP BR to be a winning player.
