Fans of the ZenZone can go check out the new home of the Zen Zone discussion area at http://www.zenzoneforum.com

If you have ever posted in the Zen Zone forum here at BlackjackInfo, you already have a user account with the same username and password at ZenZoneForum.com

If you never posted in that area here, you can register for a new account on the new site. Use the same username as here if you like, but the accounts and sites are separate.

Not sure whether you have an account? Try logging in there. If you get a message saying invalid username or password, you likely do not yet have an account. (If it's really a password issue you'll be told that your username is already in use when you try to re-register.)

I think this was a great decision, not only because it helps keep the web site on-topic, but also because the "New Posts" link will now show new posts that I actually want to read! No offense to ZG or the other posters in that forum, but I'm glad to see the change.

In the user preferences, you can set any forum to Ignore and you won't see it at all when you click New Posts. I've done that with ZZ for a long time.

Agree. Should open in a new tab, preferably. zg
I respectfully disagree, Zg. I join LG in applauding Ken's decision. I value your opinion on the blackjack portion of the forum a great deal but have never been a big fan of the ZZ or most of the topics of discussion there. I am a fan or the first amendment and in no way favor the silencing of you or anyone. It just always seemed to me that a forum entitled 'Blackjackinfo.com' was not the proper forum for such discussion, which had absolutely nothing to do with the topic of blackjack. I wouldn't log on to NFL.com to discuss religion, politics or theater either.

Maybe you should have the zzf open in a new window instead of taking us away from bjinfo?
I don't think it matters; I'm guessing the link from here to there is only temporary.

I see zg is a mod there, which is as it should be.

new winder!

I agree with BJC, the ZZ should open in a new window (tab)... I like to read them both and it makes it easier to check on new post in either forum.

Not sure if this is related to the change, but I used to be able to select which topics are visible in the main page and when I click on New Posts, but that seems to have disappeared and my "New Posts" button now displays everything, as does my "Message Boards" main page... If this is unrelated perhaps the mods can move this to another thread or PM me.

Thanks.

Nothing changed here, at least not intentionally.

Are you talking about the option to ignore forums as mentioned in a post above? It should still be functional, although I was going to ask if it is still needed.

As for opening the ZenZone in a new window, I'll take a look at that when I get a chance.
In the meantime, here's a useful trick. Hold down the Ctrl Key when clicking and you should get a new window for whatever link you are clicking.
At least I think that works in Internet Explorer as well as Firefox.

Hmm yeah that's what I was talking about. Firstly, I think it's still useful, as I might normally ignore things such as "Other Games" or "Europe".

But secondly, that's what seems to be gone. Where exactly do I found the option to ignore specific forums??

Oops, I apparently did remove the ignore forums modification inadvertently. No worries, I've reinstalled it now.

In your User Control Panel, under Edit Options, you can select which forums to exclude from checking when you use the New Posts option.

Okay, I see it now, thanks Ken!

Since the ZZ will no longer be comprised exclusively of APs, it has diminishing allure for me.

I have never before sought out a site like the ZZ for the purpose of discussing controversial topics with a majority of people who disagree with my views. But the fact that anyone in BJINFO might drop into the Zen Zone at any time, at least held forth the hope that more persons of my admittedly conservative and Christian views might enter the fray. But lately, since ZZ has migrated away, I find myself spending more time in BJINFO than previously.

I think it ironic that the anti-Zionists who comprise a significant segment of the ZZ population have now been given their own homeland so to speak, although they don't seem to be too happy about it. They speak of it more as an exile. I think the fun to them of their radical views is the shock value they derive from being present to ordinary American citizens as most APs are. Now separated, they will increasingly become more of one mind, and the life will slowly drain from their unviewed existence.

I'll sleep on it. Maybe I'll see things differently in the morning.
For one Christian/Catholic who is never afraid to express his religion's beliefs, your campaign seems to have failed miserably to recruit more believers. (I can count them on less than the fingers of one hand.) And yet you have slaved away with little apparent reward for so long. (Flagellation?) Perhaps your reward awaits you in heaven, when you finally go to the Big Casino in the Sky.

Your above post infers that Anti-Zionism is the main interest on ZZ, but that is not the case. And yes, few there are like Joe Biden, a confessed supporter of Zionism. And as you well know, the ZZ has as many topics for discussion as you could imagine.

I think you did feel different in the morning, as you posted about five or six new posts on the ZZ! Nice to see you are not confining yourself to anywhere in particular and that you obviously prefer to include all your options for expression, on more than just one subject.

Yes, you ARE confused - I said that the Zzone link should open in another window or tab -
so that it doesn't take one away from BJINFO. zg
