Yo Guys,

Some things are not kosher about Borg, Caesars, and Trump Marina. Here are the BJ winnings and percentages:

11/30/2008 Blackjack Winnings
Casinos $ in Millions Win %

Hilton 1.50 11.30
Bally's 3.80 11.50
Borg 7.50 9.60
Caesars 8.00 16.30
Harrah's 2.80 13.30
Resorts 1.80 16.70
Showboat 1.60 16.00
Trop 2.60 13.70
Marina 1.90 19.60
Plaza 1.80 10.30
Taj 3.80 9.80
Total 37.10

Excuse me for the formatting problem.
The first column is the names of casinos
2nd: Winnings $ in millions
3rd: Winning %.

The above info is taken and summaried from this Link:

To see if you guys will enlighten me, here are my questions:

1) How the hell Caesars could beat Borg in bj winnings, 8 million bucks vs 7.5?

2) Why Borg's winning rate was the lowest, Borg's 9.6% vs Caesars' 16.3% vs Marina's 19.6%?

3) Could the Shuffle Masters help casinos to increase the house edge?
Note: Marina has used the Masters in almost all its bj games on its main casino floor while Borgata removed all the Shuffle Masters from all its pits.
Should we all stay away from casinos with the Masters?

Your 2 cents will be most appreciated.

Borg BJ is all 6D S17. Caesars is half 8D S17 and half 8D H17. Obviously, the additional 0.2% HA of H17 doesn't make up the difference, but the H17 games would attract poorer players.

Thats a very interesting link. Thanks.
I can't believe the holds for Spanish 21 and some of the carnival BJ offshoots.
I can. I've been playing Sp21 for almost a year and I have yet to see another player who comes close to playing correct BS. Then there's the Match the Dealer sidebet with a 3% HA.

Most AC Sp21 tables are usually crowded. So why is it, with such high revenues from the game, they don't open more SP21 tables?

While the big B is very popular indeed, the big C attracts the highest of high rollers, as it always has.

The casino net earnings figure will be highly correlated to both the mean wager and the total gross 'handle' of wagers.

Ever walk into the "Palace Court" on a weekend and see how crowded the $500 minimum tables can be ?

Inaccuracies or missed a few little details?

An interesting batch of figures! I noticed something though... 6 to 5 blackjack is not listed anyplace even though most of these places offer it and have at least one table devoted to single deck 6 to 5 blackjack full time. Is this simply included in with the main blackjack entry on page one? I heard from an unconfirmed source (a dealer) that this games plows out a steady 28% win rate for the casino(s) but it's not listed on this revenue statement.

I have to agree with Flash... Borgata does a much higher volume of business so will score a huge gross even at a lower win percentage and Caesar's has devoted high rollers or "whales" that have been with them long enough that they are not neccessarily easily swayed into playing elsewhere. Given time that can change because Borgata is relatively new compared to Caesar's, which has been around a much longer time to cater to their group of high rollers and give them sufficient incentives and perks not to wander off anywhere else.

Casinos compete for these "whales" and it's a big deal to them. A wealthy high roller that is coaxed into trying another casino gets the red carpet treatment all the way. This one individual can bring in more revenue than 1000 little old ladies playing nickel slots (this is a hypothetical comparison for purposes of making the point and should not be construed as being totally mathematically accurate), so they are given treatment as if they are royalty! To KEEP those "whales" from straying, a casino such as Caesar's will go to great lengths.
