"Re-write and post this in the cardcounting forum, I have some interesting things to add." zg

As instructed, i am to disclose my results using the zengrifter strategy for LLs and Royal20s for real casino play.

I am a little confused if Royal20s is the same thing as Royal Match. I originally thought they were the same, and researched Royal Match, though when i sat down at a table and looked at the payout (2.5 or 3 : 1 for same suit, 25:1 for KQ suited) i HIGHLY doubted it was beatable, i am still unclear on this point.. if "royal20s = royal match" then i still don't understand the math, but that is another story.

RESULTS:
ZG,

I played the LL and royal match side bets as per your instructions and for nothing less than to re-live the wonderful experience by sharing it with you, these were the results:

LL, won 66% of the time, with 4:1 payouts in all cases except 1 9:1 payout. played this at KO RC count of +4 or +5 which depended on when/how i parlayed bets. Solid +EV.

Royal Match, won about 50% of the time with 2.5-3:1 payout. Played this at RC +5. Never got a royal match, but was definitely +EV for the trip.

you bastard. you could have saved me the humiliation. at least the house edge where i was playing it was under 0.09%.

side note: LL's is at far more casinos than listed in CBJNs.

I was trying to figure out how you were betting the royal match based on the count.
I play it in DD when none of the K/Qs have popped after about a third of the cards have been played.Still have not hit a RMusing these guidelines, but I don't bet it very often. I've played entire sessions where the conditions didn't get to the point of me placing a bet.

zg said "royal20s" in a message to me, but i confused it with the often discussed royal match, even after reading about it at wizzard of odds AND looking at the table rules! it didn't make any damn sense! so i only put $1 or $2 on it at a time, if nothing else maybe it provides a minimal level of cover. only took advantage of it a few times and won it 50% thankfully!

i'm not sure if tracking Ks and Qs could even make it +EV. i have a feeling the answer is no, espcially in light of the pathetic 25:1 payout. for it to be profitable you need a 1 in 24 chance of winning it. when on earth could that happen? now if it paid 1000:1 then maybe i'd rethink the possibility. but that is a really rough guess.

Depending on where you play, the odds change. The Vegas Club used to pay 50-1 on a RM.El Cortez pays 10-1,but 3-1 on suited.I also doubt its ever a positive bet but if you can remove 30 or so cards from the deck,it cuts the odds from [(2/104 + 1/103) to 2(74 + 1/73)]and a 50-1 payout .Additionally, you have a roughly 10% chance of the 2-1 booby prize, when playing at the Vegas Club.
I've never seen any discussion on how side betting can effect your comps. If you toss up a few bucks when the PB is rating you,and then toss em up when he's around,I wonder if you get credit for every hand dealt while you are at the table.

Reno has a casino that pays 2.5:1 for suit, 25:1 for K,Q suit, $1,000 bonus regardless of amount bet when you have K,Q suit and dealer also have K,Q suit other than your suit.

actually i think the cortez payout is as follows:

SD- 3:1 suited 25:1 KQ suited. i'm not sure if it is 10:1 as you say, or 25:1 as i remember.
DD- 2.5:1 suited 25:1 KQ suited. I know the DD pays 2.5:1.

The SD has paid 10-1 for years. Its possible they changed it since early March, but you might be confusing the SD and DD games.Wouldn't make sense to have two different lower payouts and the same hi payout.Vegas and Plaza are 2:1,and 50:1,or were when I last played there.Seems like lower regular payouts result in premium hi payouts.

A 3/1 - 25/1 payout at 1D would e a posi-EV bet. EC pays 2.5/1 - 25/1 on 2D, which is grossly inferior to the 3&10 pay on 1D. zg
