Software update with new split EVs

wxWidgets Just to chime in, for C++ GUI's I highly recommend wxWidgets. It's native to all platforms (windows, mac, linux) and very easy to work with.

    statistical test question

Okay, so with so few samples (small sample size!) versus subsets, you will be hard pressed to find any worthwhile statistical test. What you can do is determine if the results are the expected 20%/30%/50% distributions with some degree of accuracy. But when you only have 1 or 2 samples per...

    statistical test question

Well, the K-S test says if your given distrubution fits an "expected" distribution. For the sports bet I'm not actually sure which test would be best. Could you give a more specific example with numbers? Or something? I could better help then.

    statistical test question

K-S Divergence, or Chi Squared The best and simplest would be to use a paired student's t test but that assumes you have one set of single measurements (without "A"), and another set of single measurements (with "A"). But that's not what you have. You have 2 distributions which you want...

    Bust it blackjack

You can use a simulator (e.g. cvdata) to find the Effect of Removal (EoR) of each card for this side bet. Just turn on the side bet, customize the shoe by removing a few of each card, and get the EV of this sidebet for different shoe states. Probably not worth your time, though, playing it alone.

    General AC advice

Do you have use fake ID's, then, to get other players cards?

    Taxes Poll!

Okay, so here's the deal. I'm wondering how many of you actually pay taxes on your gambling winnings. I suppose if it's your only source of income it would look pretty suspicious to the IRS if you didn't report it as income on your yearly tax forms, but if it's part time, while not necessarily...

Stories, part 2 - Lessons from a former newB

Very nice post. I'm sorry your bankroll suffered. How much did it drop? Well within your expected variance or not? And where is part 1!? I must have missed it sometime ago.

    QFIT sp21 indices

Yes, that is a great count for betting decisions. But keep in mind that count doesn't yield very good decisions for your stiff hand decisions, which are pretty important in this game. In BJ your 12v2,3,4 and 13v2 are pretty much the only important ones, but in this game you need to know...

Software update with new split EVs

Only used to validate an algorithm. Single deck is better for combinatorial analysis (CA) validation because the CA result from a 6 deck or 8 deck shoe might be extremely similar, while for single deck, every card that is added to the hand significantly changes the EV. That's why we've used...

    Initial running count

Do you have the ability to run a sim or cvcx? That will help generate betting ramps for you (essentially what to bet at each count). For each bet ramp, you can find out what your EV per hour is, and your Risk of Ruin.

    Initial running count

I'm not sure you're following. You need 16 extra good cards for it to be profitable. Starting at -20 and waiting till -4 is the sameas starting at 0 and waiting till +16...

    Initial running count

You mean "IRC" not INC. It won't make a difference. Start at 0 and use +16 as your key count. The only difference is if you divide by the number of decks left (and turn it into a TC) you have to start at a specific IRC.

    6:5 BJ is a Failure

Unfortunately in AC no hole card is dealt until after everybody plays their hands for their single deck games.

    Faster/clearer computation of dealer probabilities?

How? Are all possible shoe states' dealer probabilities up to 8 decks just loaded from a file or something for S17 and H17?
