The Horseshoe Council Bluffs does indeed have $5-5000 limits for anyone who is questioning that part of this story. 6 deck shoe, H17, DOA, DAS, split up to 4 hands, no surrender, no resplit of aces. A few hand shuffled games in the main gaming area, everything else is machine shuffled...

Insure for less... I will often insure for less (25% of initial bet or less) when the count doesn't call for it. This makes it look like I take insurance almost all the time, although I do it for full value only when called for by the count.

I think I may know where it is... Is this place a relatively new establishment? (Within the last year). I haven't been there, but I have an idea of where it may be.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know much about the mirrors used on the tables. Why wouldn't they be able to see if it were a different card such as a 9? Is there something about the mirror or the way the cards are printed that only allows a dealer to see Aces and 10's?

I have lurked for awhile and this is my first post. I was playing a 6-deck shoe game today and one of my dealers would sometimes check his hole card even if his up-card was not a 10 or face. I think he checked once under a 9 or 8 and once under a 7. He seemed to do this whenever I placed...
