    True Count?

Moo321 is right. If you are attempting to split hairs by being too accurate on everything, it will make it more difficult to keep an accurate count and manage the game.

Are more accurate counts really worth it?

Chezzmo: I use the Uston APC, a 5 level count. It was, as I have mentioned previously, very difficult to keep an accurate count. It wasn't difficult for me to learn but I must honestly say that I don't think it's much more effective than a simple HI/Lo. It's just ingrained in my mind now...

    Quitting When Ahead?

You are correct. It's those lengthy sessions when I seem to get my butt kicked. Hit and Run has worked for me since the 70's when I lived in LV. I'ts those longer sessions that seem to get me. I now play most of the time with my wife, who doesn't like to move from a good game, regardless of...

Man, this "counting" stuff is hard.

Practice EasyRhino: Just like anything that is worthwhile it takes practice, practice, practice. Just don't get discouraged. One of these sessions, you will be amazed at how it all falls in place. It may not even be a winning session. But if you didn't lose the count all day, weekend...

    Is it worthwhile?

Get out as fast as you can MrMaster: The old Vegas World (now the Statosphere) for a time offered this same variation of BJ. It looks tempting because of the no hole card. It is a horrible game regardless if you count or not. I hope this isn't your only BJ option. If it is ..... play...

    Quitting When Ahead?

quitting when ahead Wouldn't it be great if we always had the option of quitting when ahead? Take ihate17's (love that name) advice. Marathon sessions rarely are successful. My wife says I always do better with my "Hit and Run" strategy. Many small sessions (often none being losers) and...

    tokes for counting

Tipping EasyRhino is right ..... the dealers would end up with any or all of your winnings if you tipped as THEY THINK YOU SHOULD. If I feel that a dealer is being somewhat cooperative (i.e. cutting deeper), I make my tips as wagers for the dealer, especially when the count is favorable and I...

    face-up vs. face-down

If given a choice, take face up Face up will always allow you to see all the cards and make counting quite easy. Whereas, some older dealers will often pickup cards thrown in by players that break and purposely hide them from players they think (or know) are counting. Even if they do the...

    Winning Experiences?

counting methods Started with the Hi/Lo in the 70's. Had pretty good success. Fine tuned counting by going to the Ken Uston method. I don't recall Ken's name for this system but it is difficult and it took a long time before I could do it without losing the count. (I have given all my BJ books...
