    Questions by a newbie

Hit a 12 against a 2 and people act like you just blew up a bus full of babies. I think it's funny that even the dealers look at you weird and give you crap for that kind of stuff, as well. Then you ask them to look at their BS card they have on them, and they're quiet till the next "weird"...

Dumbest thing I've heard said at the table

That completely makes sense. However, he was doing things opposite of what the count warranted, and there was no hole card, so this guy wasn't nearly as smart as you, or an AP.

Dumbest thing I've heard said at the table

Back to dumb stuff people say... Last night an older man sat down and immediately started making fun of the people at the table who weren't playing basic strategy. Not to their face, but just quietly to me because I was sitting beside him. After about 15 hands or so he was dealt A-7 against a...

    What flow?/ flow conspriacy

3-2-2-3-2-2-2-5 2-2-4-3-2-A-2-5 A-2-2-A-6-3-A-5 The old man looked like he was going to throw up on the table after the third hand. I'm sure I'll remember the sequences for quite a while, I have a pretty good recall.

    What flow?/ flow conspriacy

Last night an old man at first position was trying to hit everything to 17, even if the dealer was showing a 6 or less. At first, a few of the people complained that he was doing it, until they realized that for about 8 out of 10 times he did that in one shoe, if he hadn't, the dealer would have...

A Full table is better for most players!

If it's for fun and not real money, or something else valuable, then it's not gambling. Gambling is playing a game of skill or luck/chance for money or items of some value. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you, I'm just pointing out the flaw in your logic. There's a huge difference in...

    What flow?/ flow conspriacy

I got in quite the animated discussion the other day with one of my friends' at his house. He knows how to play basic blackjack, not basic strategy, but doesn't play very often. I was telling him a story about how one lady a few nights before, berated a young kid for three decks when he split...

    Basic BS question

At the casino a while ago, I was sitting beside a guy who, like many other ploppy's, stood on 12 against a 2 or 3 every time. I, of course, hit it, and after hitting it about 5 times, this conversation starts: Him: Why do you hit that, you should be staying you know? Me: No, I play basic...

    My crazy Blackjack hand!

One of the first times I actually went to the casino, before I even started counting, it was the last hand of the night, and I wanted to go out with a bang. I was playing two hands of $10, but upped it to $50 on both. I was dealt an 11 on the first hand and doubled to 21, and 3's on the second...

    That Pesky Soft 18 Hand

Well not A-2-3-3, because that's soft 19. But A-2-2-3, yes.

    Pure Luck of the Draw

Why are you in a hand with queen-7? Are you and renegade the same person trying to have fun on your day off from school?

    Pure Luck of the Draw

So why are you here? If you're older than 20 with the I.Q. of over 90, I would be shocked.

    Most misplayed hand?

Actually I don't see A-7 misplayed much, but I can probably count on my hands how often I've seen 12 against a 2 or a 3 played correctly. When I actually hit them, people tell me I'm messing up the shoe and that I shouldn't have hit.

    How are Dealers rated?

A few days ago I had a dealer who was cutting at least two decks on every shoe, and for two shoes she cut more than two and a half (over a couple dealer changes when she came back). The next night, I asked a dealer I'm friends with how much they're actually supposed to cut, and he said no more...

    Is this normal?

It was six decks, and the cut was a little bit more than a deck... probably 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 decks.
