I think I'm addicted to Gambling

Hi, you've almost read more books on advantage play than having played in real casinos. Good thing, because most gamblers won't ever read a book about gambling. So you already know of the chances etc before even starting a serious carreer. You have all the knowledge and still you say you think...

    I am a casino dealer

If everyone knows you are going to stand, why waste any more time over it. I personally hate dealers, who ask you for every single hand whether you gonna hit or stand. Not to mention the ones who ask me whether I want to split or double my 5's....

    backlining strategy?

Thanks for the response; this puts backlining in a whole new perspective..! But who can tell me which splits exactly are defensive (minimizing anticipated loss) and which are offensive (maximizing anticipated gain) ? The examples Scott gave are rather obvious, but what about 8-8 vs. 2 etc. ..?

    backlining strategy?

When playing at my local casino yesterday, I noticed something interesting. I had been playing for a while, when one of the other players at the table decided to backline me. I was dealt two eights against a dealer nine. playing BS I decided to split my hand, and the player backlining me...

If a game is double only 9-11, can you double on soft 18/19?

In European Casinos, where double on 9-11 only is normal, you can't double 9/19 being 19. So if you get a deuce you have 11, not 21.

    Blackjack in Belgium

hmm CSM's, It seems they're all over the place now in Belgium and the Netherlands and I just wanted to start my ccc at the beach casino's in West-Belgium, because I thought the rules as described above were quite good for European casinos (no hole card). But if all Belgian casinos have the same...

    Visualization vs. Self Talk

Is there a third option? I don't visualize neither say it to myself. Don't know how I remember it, but I can recall it when I want, storing it in the short term memory. I think my method is the best, but the supremacy of visualization vs. self talk could be explained by this: When you talk to...

    Making "Red Flag" Plays

It almost makes you think that their blackjack bet is an ante to be allowed to play such a good side bet. "we don't understand why the casino is offering perfect pairs or whatsoever, but we make a lot of money out of it" . Indeed some blackjackplayers have more chance to win with their...

    Splitting 4's ?

I just ordered Vancura & Fuch's "Knock-Out BlackJack" from Amazon.com. On page 28 there's a BS table which tells me to *never* split my 4's. However, according to the BS engine I should split against dealer 5 or 6. What is the correct play?

    Oostdende, Belgium

Oostende, Belgium Just checked out the website of Belgium's largest Casino, located in Oostende. The rules looked pretty good to me (especially compared to any Casino in the Netherlands: CSM), but I'd like to know the exact house advantage. The rules are: ENHC, 6decks, DAS, Surrender but not...

    Memory freak!

I'd like to play bridge against him :) , when you're an advanced+ bridgeplayer, you will be very proficient in remembering the cards. You can always tell which card is the 52nd. However it's not that you recall each card apart: you develop a system that keeps track of the four suits (whether...
