New to the world of Blackjack!

Greetings, I am no expert, but the best advice I recieved was to learn basic stradegy till you know it in your sleep, then began learning counting. I do have the same issue, I get distracted by all the things going on around the table/floor.

    match the dealer

Greetings, I saw a BJ table where you could bet on trying to match either of your first 2 cards against the dealers up card, is this game any good? The odds I believed paid out 20- 1 and 40 to 1 if they were matching set. I am not sure if it paid double if both your cards matched the dealers...

    Is 2009 unusually unlucky?

Greetings, I made my 13th jump on a friday the 13th back in the early 80s, then to make matters worse, after counting the spot I was in, you guessed it I was the 13th person out and the 12th and 14th would not change with me. The jump could not have been more perfect. The next day however I...

    splitting aces

Greetings all, I know your suppose to split aces but what if the count is at say -5 or -6? Do you just split and hope for a 10 or even a 8 or 9? Not splitting will draw attention from the pit boss? Would it also perhaps depend on what the dealer as showing? Thank you for your patience on...

    Table manners

on a 12 vs 2 I get sick of hearing you took the dealers bust card, however one day at a full table I did hit the 12vs 2 and heard that phrase, and indeed it was a 10 however the dealer flipped over the card and had a 9 drew a 4 followed by a 10 to bust. The one quiet person flipped me a green...

    Table manners

Greetings, I rarely say things or reply back to others at the table when they question my play, however Friday I could not resist. I had a soft 18 against the dealers 7 The guy to my right said you should double down. I said why would I wish to go from a winning hand to a push? he then...

Situations where the dealer is more likely to make an error!

I believe it was the pitboss who was at fault, he should have waited till she was done, and it did not occur to me she had already paid me, till we started a new hand. I then began to wonder if I could have got into any kind of trouble. I just know the PB was very annoying, I signal I wanted a...

Greetings, I know the BS of that hand is to hit, but what is the reason/s of not doubling down? I seem to win that situation quite a bit.

Situations where the dealer is more likely to make an error!

Greetings, I was at a table playing heads up with a new dealer, I won the hand, she paid me. I collected my winnings, a pit boss grabbed her attention and they talked for about a minute. She then turned back around and paid me a 2nd time and then collected the cards that had been dealt out.

LOL perhaps she did. I do prefer playing one on one with the dealer especially if the cards are flowing in my favor.
