Alright, I see that you're intent on arguing, so I'll respond one more time since you still don't get it. Just a slight correction. I've been playing on BJ teams for more than 15 years, and solo for 5 years before that. I've told a story that actually happened to me, and corrected you when...

Why the hostility? I was just relating an experience I had in the hopes of shedding some light on what the sky watched for. Sorry if it was a bit much for you. Did you miss the fact that this was AFTER I was already backed off? He already knew I was counter, and he had already backed me off...

Why do dealers shout things out loud?

I have never seen someone signal for a hit, or place money on the table for a double, and then claim that they didn't signal the hit or want a double. This would never work. All that would need to be done is to look at the tape to see the signal, or simply look at the table to see the money...

Why do dealers shout things out loud?

There are certain things the pit wants to be made aware of. Cashing in and "coloring up" are two (it's the most obviously place for cheating between a player and colluding dealer). When someone is betting black, the pit wants to know that too. The more money in play, they more the pit is...

Deviations from Basic are what the pit now looks for now more than anything else in confirming counters at the table. We have it from an inside source that dealers and critters are instructed not only in Basic, but also the Illustrious 18, and told to call out certain deviations. But they don't...

    Penetration

I'll take a shot at this one. First, the answer: all other considerations being considered equal between two games, penetration is the single most important factor. An extreme example: Consider a single-deck game, heads up. At one table, the dealer is only dealing one round. Obviously, a card...

Yeah, I know, I guess I wasn't clear (twice). :) You have to do a flat-bet sim with an actual simulator and then input the data into BJRM, at which point it is a "complex RoR calculator". BJRM can parse the output of a simulator log file from SBA, but that's the only one I know of it can read...

Right, I know. In short, you do a flat-bet sim and input the data, then it calculates RoR, optimal bets, win rates, SCOREs, etc. When jaredmt said "really complex RoR calculator" my first thought was BJRM, since that's how I've always thought of it.

Ok, thanks for pointing out that one of the negative votes is from a PC user so I can ignore it. I guess I should have asked that only those with Macs vote, since if you don't have a PC you wouldn't be able to use it anyway. I'll edit the first post to reflect this. XXI will have RoR and...

No need to apologize, I realize it's a low volume field. "QFIT", you must be Norm? You are indeed the expert in the field as well, so any input you offer is greatly appreciated. When I say "staff", I meant 1 other person. I and my other programmer will be very busy the next few weeks, and I...

Need input re: new Mac OS X simulator

I am about to release a new high-speed blackjack simulator and index generator for Mac OS X 10.4.x and 10.5.x (see my sig for the site link). At this point I'm not quite sure whether I will need additional staff to handle support issues. Of course this is directly related to how many users we...
