I live in California (san diego)....So yeah, some casinos are 18 while others are 21. =\
No ATM fees at barona (and if there are, they're like 2 or 3 bucks....and that's because it's MY BANK billing me, not barona).
I also hear barona doesn't really care much about card-counters? I mean...
About a week or two my friend was telling me about this 'perfect strategy' that you're describing. I made a thread asking about it and got some decent answers..though I'm still a bit confused myself.

It seems like a great strategy, so...
Can you guys try to keep this thread on topic? If you want to flame eachother/eachother's strategies, please do so in separate thread and/or in private messages (if this forum allows for PMs).
Thanks.
...and I'm not going to do it? I first came here 'asking if it was a viable strategy', not 'check out this awesome strategy it works 100%!!!!'.
After a few posts and some math (still not sure if it's right or not..), I figured out it wouldn't be good in the long run.
Obviously betting...
Thanks guys, especially flash. I'll just be playing with 5$/units for a short period, 1-2 hours. I guess that's 500-1000$ ?
And my first two questions were more out of curiosity. Do you just walk up to a table and throw down 2 grand? Or do you have a stack of 100's in your pocket and pull a...
A losing streak of 2-7 is fine...as long as one of the 8 hands you win. If you lose 7 in a row, then win the 8th hand, you just won $5 over those 8 hands. Yes it is all or nothing. Either you lose all of them (8 hands) or you win one of them, then restart the round to hand#1.
So what's wrong...
Out of curiosity:
--How many units do you walk into a casino with?
--How much money is one of your units?
Question for myself: How many units do YOU think are needed before going to a casino & counting? I don't have enough extra money yet to go to the casino and count yet...just wondering...
At this point I realize it's not a good theory...just wondering if my math is on or off.
Ah, thanks for the info guys. I did some math for it, and was wondering if this is correct:
I assumed you can have enough money for 8 hands, starting at $5 at first hand and $640 on the 8th hand.
So for...
I was sitting at a BJ table about a year ago...seeing how hard it would be to count cards (just a test/sample run). I must have been keeping a good count because the guy next to me kept betting when the count was high and sitting out while the count was low/negative. He asked the dealer if he...
I know it's a fallacy. But I'm not banking on 'the next hand' will be a winner. I'm banking on 'one of the next 5 hands' will be a winner.
I've never been super-great at statistics, buuuuuut:
The chance of a tails (loss) is 0.5*0.5*0.5*0.5*0.5 which equals 0.03125 (or about 3%). So there's a...
Without counting cards....would the following be a (somewhat?) profitable theory to winning money at blackjack? --
1) Bet 5.
a) If you win, you just made +5 bucks, repeat step 1.
b) If you lose, you just lost 5 bucks, go to step 2.
2) Bet 10
a) if you win, you just lost 5 on first hand...
Oh ok..
So I been practicing a bit. I can count a single deck in 30-35 seconds. But I got another deck today and realized how much harder it is (since usually the highest/lowest you'd get in a single deck is about +/- 7, but with 2 decks I've already gotten to +/- 12 or even 14.).
Does...
I was talking about a program / blackjack game on my computer where I could practice counting cards (The program I found is called "Proficient Blackjack", except it sucks.....). Any ideas?
Most places I've read, it's said new counters should start with the Hi/Lo count or another balanced level 1 system...?
Ah ok. Yeah sorry I was super tired when I wrote that last night.
So I have the running count in my head the entire time, and only convert to the true count per hand...
Hi, I'm new to counting cards (extremely new)... I found a deck in my dorm today and decided what the hell, why not give it a shot.
I've read through lotsa stuff on the forum here and other basic google searches, as well as the lessons found here...
