This recommendation makes a lot of sense to me and I think this is pretty much how I'll work it for my first trip. Thanks for all the input and I'll report on how it goes!

If I don't end up counting, I won't play nearly as much and I won't expect to use it as a means to make money, as I think many gamblers do. I will probably just play a good amount for entertainment, using sound BS and take advantage of some of the other entertainment the casino has to offer...
