At what level are most backoffs

I have seen a few of these as a red chipper. Do most Ap players get all the way to black mins before the hammer falls? What are the signs of heat building up? Do we watch for sweat in the pit and avoid those faces, times and places? Just planning ahead.

I started as a green-chipper, and in my early days played far too long and aggressively, and ended up with a my first backoff pretty quick. It just takes them noticing the bet spread and correlation with a count to run a skills check, they'll happily do so for red chippers.

There were no signs of heat. There often aren't.

I think it is also important to realize that just because you played for 4 hours while spreading 1-10 at Casino A with no heat, does not mean you can expect to do that at Casino X and not get backed off. In fact, you could even get backed off at Casino A doing the same thing on a different day or a different shift.

I will also reiterate johndoe's statement above. The only time I've been backed off, there was no heat. No floor person standing behind the table, glowering at me with his arms crossed. No pit boss on the phone sneaking surreptitious glances at me. The pit boss walked into the pit, straight up to the table, and told the dealer to push my bet back.
