A few questions about COunting in Vegas

I am going to be in Vegas for a mix of card counting and WSOP for a lengthy time in June. I am relatively new to counting so I have only done it in Atlantic city. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I was wondering:
1. Aside from Total Rewards Casinos, are there any casinos in Atlantic City where your comp status would affect room rates in Las Vegas? I know MGM has some stake in Borgata, but can't figure out how to get free rooms at their casinos.

2. I have a friend whose card got flagged at the Borg, has anyone ever had this happen then get to Black Label(from pokering or whatever), I assume it would still be flagged, but possibly lost in upgrade process?

3. I know in Vegas they can ask you to leave for counting, but do they ever actually kick you out the doors and ban you? If you are staying at a Total Rewards Casino in Vegas and you get caught counting can they kick you out of your hotel room?

#1 Borgata rewards program is seperate from MGM. :( AC Hilton and AC Resorts rewards can be transfered to LV Hilton.

#2 I don't understand the question.

#3 In Vegas they most certainly can and do ban you. They can kick you out of a comped hotel room. Not sure if you are a paying guest if they could kick you out. I have asked this question before but didn't get a response.

From your post, I suspect you play a lot of poker at HET properties. For blackjack purposes, HET generally offers some of the crappier games in both locations. If you are going to play BJ either in AC or Vegas, don't play at HET just because you have a total rewards card. There are much much better games at both locations.

If you play a lot in AC, you should be able to get rooms in Vegas with Harrah's. Check online first.

MGM is weird about giving you hotel rooms if you haven't played at that casino before. i.e. You play at the MGM Grand in Vegas and want a comp to the Beau Rivage in Mississippi.

Harrah's has given me free rooms at casinos I've never been to.

I've noticed Boyd Gaming is very good about giving room comps through their website.

If you check the website and don't have any offers, try calling them.

As far as I know, the Borg is actually a totally separate system from MGM and whoever else owns it. I would actually assume your name is good at MGM even if you've been tagged at the Borg.

I have several times been physically escorted up to my room and allowed to pack, then booted off the property. I have also had this happen when I was a paying guest, on two separate occasions; with no offer of refund. Had I insisted, I'm sure I'd have gotten the refund, but at that point half the bosses, security guards, and anyone else that mattered would have gotten a good look at me. Surveillance would have been able to get some very good photos of me from several different angles.

I was back in the place within a month. IMO; any time you get barred in Vegas, it's always best to go as QUIETLY as possible.

I would actually guess that they cant boot you once you've paid. Inkeeper law is very strange. But... yeah, your best bet is probably to pack your **** up and GTFO.

They can always cover themselves by saying you created a disturbance, etc.

In an environment with a lot of heat it's always best to play anonymously and stay at your friendly Motel 6. Or even better pick a "home" store in each venue and play your promotions and low-risk low-EV play there just so you have room & board, and abuse everyone else.

Harrah's is good for that- I can earn my comps & status in AC where their games are decent (for AC) and there's no heat, then book my rooms elsewhere, giving them a little courtesy play but not much more because their games are substandard just about everywhere else.

When I was handed my “Black Label” card at Borgata, I was told that comp’ points earned there were usable in Las Vegas at MGM properties. That may not apply to those holding lesser player cards.

I have been evicted and forced out of my suite in Las Vegas while being read the trespass act, on etc. on several occasions, including a Harrahs property.

It matters not if you have payed for your lodging.

In this case, I would go quietly then dispute the charge with my CC company.

I don't think this is correct. However, I once got a comped suite at a Boyd casino in the midwest by calling a host and telling him I had a Borgata Black card, and asking if there was anything he could do for me.
