Aces Side count

Hi,

I have been counting using the hi-lo count for 95 hours, I feel I can count rather accurately and I can keep up a conversation while im counting and still not loose the count in DD pitch games and in 6 deck shoe games,

Lately I have been playing DD shoe games and I have heard from a few people that it is much better to keep an Ace side count while playing it, since there are only 8 aces in 2 decks then keeping track of them really helps to guess my odds of being delt an ace.

I am thinking about switching to the hi-opt I count and keeping a side count of aces, I know how to count hi-opt I and I can do that rather easily, but what I dont know is what to do about side counting aces, do I just count how many aces come up and keep a running tally? How should the density of aces left in the deck affect my bets?

For Hi Opt 1:

one ace should appear every 13 cards or 1/4 deck. Count them using A-H. For every extra ace left above normal add 1 to your RC for betting purposes. Subtract 1 for every ace already played above normal. Remember, only for betting.

Search for thread on Victor Insurance Parameter to use ace side count to improve your insurance decisions.

Will this make a significant improvement to my BE?

Also, what is A-H?

Yes, the BC improvement will be noticable. I believe it brings it up to .98. A through H is how I keep my count. Each ace is a letter making it easier to remember than 2 running counts.

Zen, r u serious? Why do you say this? I made the switch and have seen a significant enough difference to save hi lo for 6 decks...

What do you mean you've seen a difference? How many hours/sessions did you play??? zg

Not really - stick with HiLo NO-Ace count. Switching to HO1 will probably reduce your score. zg
So a count with a higher BC, PE, and IC will have a lower score?

Might as well learn Aguliar II if you're gonna add the complexity of counting 8 aces fellas.
