Title of thread: Best rooms in town. Not sure these are the best rooms in town, but it may be one of the better deals currently in town. :) Only problem is for someone not familiar is you won't be on the strip, several blocks away. Hard Rock also draws a younger sometimes "partier" crowd. On a positive note Hard Rock has some decent BJ games and is usually underrated by the different BJ reports. (IMO)

I'd take ECs Havana Suites over the HRH anyday.My one stay at the HR sucked. You can't even bring outside food or beverages to your rooms.

Yes. I suppose you could hide in on your person if you wanted, but I was stopped from entering the elevators with a bag of Carl Jrs in one hand and a Carl Jrs cup in the other. Was told that they didn't allow outside food in the rooms.

i mean i've been hearing more and more references to the practice.
but what the hell is it?
is it you get a quoted price for a room, and then you get your bill and there are some sort of scam charges tacked on to your bill?:confused:

This fee crap is a scam. You pay for a room up front, then when you show up to check in you must pay a resort fee. Depending on the place it usually averages about $10 a day. About 75% of all the hotels in Vegas do this now. I don't understand how this can even be legal, as far as I'm concerned its a form of bait and switch. So if you go for 5 days expect to add at least $50 to your trip for this. If you refuse to pay they won't give you your room key.

I just looked it up the Hard Rock resort fee is an additional $7 per day.
I did a quick look at Hotels.com and found that if cost is all that matters there are rooms on the strip that are even cheaper than what the Hard Rock is charging. I guess it depends on when you go.

It's a way to charge more for a room, yet appear to be cheaper. Search engines don't include the resort fee in the price, so you need to be careful.
A few places actually do give some value- The Venitian now gives free access to their spa where before even guests paid to use it- but most places it's just a rip-off. Imagine paying to use the facilities at The Wild Wild West($10 a nite resort fee).

A "resort fee" is an all-inclusive daily fee that typically includes all or some of the following:

  • Wi-Fi Access
  • Pool entry
  • Exercise Area entry
  • A daily newspaper
  • Free bottled water
  • Free parking
  • Free 'business center' access e.g. printing boarding passes.

Comped guests are generally NOT charged a fee, but will not get all of the above, especially not free Wi-Fi

I've stayed at the HR. Not the greatest rooms. Not the worst either.

It is a noisier property. Not just from the people and the clubs.

You get quite a bit of aircraft noise too as the property is under one of the Mccarran flight paths.

With the exception of bottled water most hotels outside of Vegas offer all of the above for free. Then again you aren't likely to get such prices anywhere else.

Free wi fi on the strip....negative

I have stayed at various LV Strip locations and never was able to get free wifi. Most resort fee's I see....which are the newer large properties...still don't include the wifi. When M opened they offered pretty low rates, but a $75. resort fee.

I won't stay at a scam joint like that.
