Card Counting in Tournaments

Just learning to count and play tourney BJ. How do you apply the former to the latter? (Yes I know this isn't the Tournament board - I shall be posting there also)

My advice for counting in a tournament is... Don't!

Seriously, until you're very experienced at tournaments, you're better off ignoring the count and focusing instead on bankroll sizes of your opponents. In many events I still don't count, because the brainpower is much more useful doing other things.

fare enough dont count but heres whats been eating me how do you decide the opportune time to place a large bet if your trailing by a max bet just blind luck?

Wait until the button passes you, so you can make your big bet exactly big enough to take the lead if everyone wins, and no bigger.

That way you're getting maximum value for your risk.

i guess it would be the same for mid round bets just enough to catch up or take the lead and blind luck? i really dont like the idea of leaving it up to blind luck and bs
