Card counting with CSM

Those continous shuffling machines look scary. How does card counting work with CSM? I mean the player sees nothing. Card count can help you with BS changes in a shoe game. It makes a difference to stand on 15/16 against dealer's biggie if the count is high. Can some counter shed some light with CSM and counting? you can keep your identity secret.

Just type in CSM card counting in google and you'll find your answer.

Sure, you can count a CSM-dealt game. It's basically a 6-deck shoe game with about 5% penetration. You'll need a 1:1,000,000 spread to beat it, though.

I would have said 10% (assuming that around the last 40 cards dealt are unlikely to put an appearance in on the next hand). I've never done the calcs to work out the BR required to beat a game with 12% pen - like yourself I take a normal bankroll and just add a load of noughts on the end!

The above members are all correct. A CSM-dealt game where the cards are placed back into the machine after every round is a game with independent trials (i.e. the cards that come out this round have no relationship to the cards that came out the previous round), and as such the game is pretty much uncountable.

A CSM basically means a new shoe every round.

If, however, the casino uses a discard tray and only puts the cards back into the CSM after the discard tray is full, this means that technically the game is countable. Its mathematically identical to a shoe game with really crappy (usually 1 to 1.5 decks) penetration. However, counting against such poor penetration will yield no more than a subtle lowering of the house edge.

Thanks all.

Some say blackjack is dead because of CSM. This thread proves that. Cheating is also possible. The cards are inserted face up. The machine reads the cards and knows the full sequence.

The machine also knows how many people are playing and who is going to follow basic strategy or not, too, huh?

I doubt shufflemaster would risk their reputation and livelihood by leasing machines that could be programmed to cheat.

Blackjack is far from dead, there are plenty of non-CSM's around. I doubt any major casino is cheating with them.
