Comment about BJTF today.

Ok, I gotta comment about something at BJTF today, and no it's not the gay guy stirring the pot, pretending to be a sock of me. I don't care about that, although if he really lives in Las Vegas and is young and gay.... Nevermind, just cabin fever and being cooped up too long getting to me. :D

Ok, what I found a little disturbing was the "acceptable RoR" thread. Usually reliable Jabberwocky posted "Full Kelly means your top bet is .075 of your total playing bank".
Couple of things wrong with this actually. Besides the decimal being wrong, he completely left off the part of the formula about x advantage. That would not be the TOP bet (if the decimal was right), it would be the wager at a 1% advantage.

Don kind of pointed out that this was an error but didn't correct it. My guess is he wanted to see who else would notice. But I mean this appears to be a newer player looking for reliable information. Do we really want this misinformation to sit out there. I mean I guess it isn't like he is going to go running off to the casino today. But still, Isn't somebody going to correct this.

Yes people do notice these things, but things have kind of gone to shit over there lately lol. Count me as another AP waiting for a different credible BJ forum to emerge. Maybe it will be this one...but it will be an uphill battle.

Stop wasting your time with pointless posts and go clean up your cesspool forum, as promised.
Thankfully I think the moderators have deleted his usual trolling and instigating posts (and all our responses) on this thread at least.

Just pointing out the obvious. It would be wonderful if you would consider posting less and not feeling compelled to comment on EVERY post in EVERY thread that comes down the pike.

Don, I have a growing sense that if you were a college professor, your class might not be the most enjoyable or most engaging, only the most informed.
Well, if you asked the thousands of people, over the years, who were not only my students but also attendees at my hundreds of derivatives and risk management seminars all over the world -- and read their evaluations -- or the recent attendees at two of my blackjack lectures at the Museum of Mathematics in New York City, the second of which broke their attendance records for an in-house lecture, you'd likely find that nothing could be further from the truth.

Just for fun, dug up a post made on a BJ forum the day after the second MoMath lecture:

Who knew?

"Who knew that Don Schlesinger has such a great sense of humor? (I can hear all of you who know him personally, saying “well duh.”) My interaction with Don has been limited to his forum writings, his books, and his answering a couple of my questions.
"Last night, my wife and I attended a couple of sessions led by Don at the MoMath Museum. I knew his presentations would be enlightening, but I had no idea they would be entertaining also. My wife left the building energized with a newfound appreciation of the work done by Don and others.
"For many years, she has been helping me scout casinos by looking for good PEN, but now has a better understanding of why it is so important. Ms. BJP told me that she has been watching me make money for over 40 years, but never understood why counting works. I had to drag her to museum, kicking and screaming, but now my wife is interested in learning more and wants Don to offer a part three.
"If you have not taken the chance to see Don do a presentation, you should do what you can to catch him the next time."
And this email from the executive director of the Museum:
"Thank YOU! It really was an incredible turnout! Your time, energy, enthusiasm, and charisma were all much appreciated."

Aye! They videoed both presentations, kept them in house, and I've never seen either. They won't release them or make them public. I've asked.

Don, please don't defend yourself against this jerk. He seeks attention by stirring the pot. Best not to give him the attention he craves and you have absolutely nothing to prove. Everyone knows what kind of high quality person you are.
I only speak basic French, Latin, Spanish etc...but how do you say...I agree 100%.

Now if you could follow your own advice on those, as 21forme puts them, "urinal sites", you might be much better off. ;)
