I've checked ebay already and can only find a few from American suppliers. I'm really after two different discard trays, which are identical to the trays used in casinos that I regularly plan at.jinkybhoy said:do any ebay search they have a few british suppliers....to be honest its probably just as handy to make your own...
I bought mine from the states but got my family to bring them over as postage was extortinate..
Thanks Newb99 but that's only a four deck discard tray. It's no good for my purposes as I need 6 deck trays for my practise techniques. I can't believe shoes, cards & card cuts are so easy to get hold of but discard trays are a completely different matter!newb99 said:There's one on eBay from a UK based supplier at the moment.

I'm so tempted, £49.99 wow, cheap at twice the price! however, i want to practise memorizing the exact location of any card or clump. Two points of reference is what I need, so I need to be able to practise estimating the deck size, which i'm pretty good at, but the the second point of reference will be from the lid or top of the discard tray down to the place in the deck where the card is placed. Unfortunately, the discard tray does need to be identical to the ones in the casinos that i'm playing at. Please could you give my apologies to to your daughter but i'm going to have to decline her very kind offer.newb99 said:Buy one anyway, and cut the lid bit off! You'll never see more than four and a half decks in one anyway ! ! !
My twelve year old daughter has also offered to make you one out of the corner section of a shoe box for just £49.99 plus postage! I've told her not to get her hopes up.

Yeah your right it is easier to use the bottom as a reference point but the idea is I have as least two points of reference, for more precise estimations and also for memory reasons. Yeah, the discard trays will always need to be the exact height as used in the casino, thats why I'm looking for a few different ones. I've now got one on order from the states that is simular to the ones used in one of casino I play in. I won't know if its identically though until I can inspect it close up and will still be looking for others. I guess I should be looking for brand names from the casinos trays, but how do I find the small print without looking extremely dodgy, it's properly on the bottom of the tray anyway. Anyway, I'm now going to starting incorporating an idea borrowed from another advance technique for a third point of reference.newb99 said:Wouldn't it be easier to take the reference point from the base of the deck, as this can never vary? Measuring from the top will require the discard tray always to remain the same height, and if one is replaced it's back to the drawing board.
I've looked at tracking blocks of cards, and the techniques for doing so but haven't started out on this - yet! Still practising with this counting stuff.
Where I have played, the nice young lady dealing did a shuffle up on six decks right in front of me (box 3 counting from 1st), and I did think it would be reasonably easy to track a block with a bit of practice. Although she riffled four blocks of approx one and a half decks each, pulled them together, and got someone to cut them, it did occur to me that they hadn't really been shuffled up at all - just arranged in a different order. Needless to say the crap run prior was replicated in the next shoe, with a block of pictures (around a dozen) coming out later on - the running count was at +18 with less than three decks to go, and I still didn't pull a single winning hand!
