Doubling A7 when to do it?

I play HILO I-18 and the A7 leaves me in doubt as far as doubling gainst 2-6 goes. Can anyone share any tips on learning the indexes when you have an A7? I suppose you double given certain TC's and stand under certain TC's.

a7 V 2 is a BS double in a H17 game and a BS stay in a S17 game (the index for doubling A7 v 2 is a S17 game is +1). A7 v 3-6 are BS doubles. At negative counts you may prefer to stay. For example,
A7 vs 4 : double at -6 or higher

when in doubt... double

Indices for soft doubles are of negligible value...
...the only ones I use are A8 and A9 v 456

With A9 vs 456 do you use a risk averse or expectation maximizing index? It seems to me that the situation is analogous to TT vs 456.

EV and yes.
I cant decide which I like better, doubling A9 or splitting 10s.
