Doubling down on soft totals

is it common for a casino to let you double down on soft totals like Ace,6 v dealer 6? If yes, is the fact that my local won't allow it costing me much in terms of advantage? Theres a casino monopoly in my region so there are no variations on the rules (and no comps! just a stupid card that gets you a free drink after 50 hours on the table).

Otherwise the rules aren't so bad, 8 deck with about 80% penetration, dealer stands on soft 17, DAS allowed.

Soft Doubling

It is common for a casino to allow soft doubling, especially against 8 decks. No soft doubling costs you -.11%. If playing proper basic strategy against those rules at your local casino the house is favored over you by -.68%! The 80% penetration is very good.

Most of the time, you'll see that restriction on doubling soft hands only on some Single and Double Deck games. I have never seen that rule on "multi deck" games. Usually, you'll also see the "no resplitting" of Aces used in conjunction with the double-down rules.
