On Sunday it is the first Swedish Blackjack Tournament running on some Swedish casinos. Unfortunately I missed the signup period so I will not be going... this time .

Each round is played with 21 hands
The entry fee is 300 kr and during the first 15 hands in each round a player can do up to 3 re-buys.

Is that normal? I think it sounds as a bit too much for a player to be able to buy in up to 3 times or isn't it?

That is unusual in my experience. Most events in the US don't offer rebuys during a round at all. Generally, you get your starting chips and that's that. If you lose them all, you're out of that round. Many events here do offer the ability to rebuy into another try at round one though. That's a whole new round rather than buying more chips during an existing one.

If you can really rebuy up to 3 times during a single round, you can expect the chip totals to be pretty high in this event. Unfortunately, you'll almost certainly need to be aggressive early, and rebuy if you fail.
