Golden Gate leading the charge in removing free drinks

The Golden Gate in Las Vegas is restricting the drinks you're served to once every 15 minutes and no longer giving you free drinks if your play doesn't qualify for it.

Is this any drinks or just alcoholic? And isn't one drink per 15 minutes sufficient? Even if its just water, that seems reasonable. I assume you aren't drinking booze when you play.

Hasn't this already been done by Caesars (or am I confusing them with someone else? machine spitting out drink tickets, when eligible, etc.

I think caesars, at least on bartops, light on your machine is green or red depending on if you’re playing enough. Cosmo spits out drink tickets.
