high-opt or high low??????

I've been counting with high low for a few months now. I do like the system and it is simple enough for me to be accurate. I am thinking of switching to high opt with a side count of aces. Its not too difficult for me to keep two counts in my head and high opt requires less counting because more cards cancel out. The hardest part for me is adjusting the count for the excess or lack of aces in the remaining shoe. Is there an easier way to calculate this?
Also, do you guys think its worth the extra effort to change? My long term goal is to go up to high-opt 2 with the ace count once it becomes second nature to me. I know that a lot of people would tell me to stick to high low but wouldn't the extra effort be worth it if I was serious about practicing???

Hey buddy if you can handle the harder counts then go for it. The thing you have to remember is that the harder the count is the less room there is for error, messing up with a level 3 count isnt like being off by one with the hi-lo. You screw up with a level 3 count and you just threw any advantge you had right out the window.
I really dont think that your gonna get to much extra out of a level 2 or 3. Many would disagree and swear by there level 2or3 counts. The numbers speek for themselves there are obviously certain counts that are better for different games so really it would be optimal to learn a certain count for each different game that you play. I believe that a good all around count is the hi-lo, it lacks the finer points of the game but you can do it more easily in a casino setting and carry on coversation, order drinks, just deal with everyday distractions that wont be there when you are practicing those level 2 or 3 counts at home. So for what you give up i think you make it back by just plain usability and the fact that you will make misktakes, which in the end for most people is going to make the hi-lo stronger then say the hi-opt II with a few mistakes here and there in a shoe. But as i said at first before this ramble with bad punctuation. If it is easy for you to do a level 2 or even level 3 count, and you are sure you can perform them flawlesly in a casino setting they more power to you buddy. Hell go with the halves or something along those lines, and you can get a little more of an edge. I wish you all the luck with your choice in the count you chose and once you take it to the tables. No, and they method Humble advises (Ace density per quarter-deck in
insufficient - and which is why Uston 20-yrs ago said HO1 is OBSOLETE.

So move up to ZEN, RPC or Mentor - Mentor being my recommendation. zg

There's almost no difference for shoe games. If you're playing single or double deck, the side count will help. But so will adding indexes, and it will probably be less work.
