The Borgata gave me two free tickets to see Sheryl Crow!! I'm guessing they couldn't find enough people to buy regular tickets!

Borgata in general has the best comps I have ever received anywhere, although I made out well at the Taj in earlier days. Last trip they gave me a Friday and Saturday comp rooms, which is difficult at most casinos.

What do you tell your host after they stopped by your seats to smooze and you aren't there and the people in your seats have no clue who you are. Talk about a comp killer.

I've never had a host or anyone contact me at a show. I doubt the Borgata even has a host system. These comps/perks appear on your offers display online, which also includes slot and match play, giveaways, sweepstakes, and free rooms. Besides offers, the Borgata extends comp dollars based on amount of play. I have seen players who have not built up their comp dollars ask for and receive special restaurant comps from pit bosses. If you can get a host, I have never been offered one at this particular casino, and I have played a ton, enough to keep their premium card.

I guess my experiences with my Dad's comps are a little dated, but it was not unusual for his host/hostess to go out of their way to bump into him at whatever the bigger comps were.

Until several years ago, my A. C. hosts would often meet me at events
and greet me upon arrival, and even check up on me at the tables.

Some hosts woulds get me gourmet meals and invite themselves along.

Some years ago, [when I was a heavy bettor], A.C. casinos comped me lavishly;
and the hosts were always calling me up in order to offer (impressive) comps.

They would send me Xmas and Birthday presents, etc. etc. There were yearly
events at Race Tracks where a group of 20 or so players were taken out to the
Race track, (via Limo') and then given Box Seats in the Clubhouse, Programs,
Racing Forms, and then, after the last race, taken to the absolutely finest
restaurant (and tavern) in the area.

That's what I was used to getting on my Dad's action. He played purple and orange at the craps table.

Most AC casinos probably do have hosts. We had them back when I used to play at the Taj Mahal. But that doesn't seem to be the case at the Borgata, unless maybe you're a really really high roller.

In fact, I have a friend who said he used to get free helicopter rides to AC. I'm pretty sure he had a host who arranged it. And in Vegas, I have hosts at a two casinos that I never asked for-- one would get me show tickets, restaurant vouchers, plane tickets and free rooms; the other would just come to the tables when I was playing and greet me plus give me restaurant comps. I suppose if you ask for one, you can get a host practically anywhere. I doubt I'll ever achieve the Presidential Suite or Helicopter Ride status, however. In fact, my gambling seems to be trailing off into oblivion. I'll probably get reduced to weekly Bingo tickets and penny slot tournaments.

I scalped free tickets once. I posted the ad on craigslist though and did the transaction in a different casino. There was also no host involved.

My son went to school with his younger sister, ffour. BTW, those are his older brother and sister. I met his parents, zzero and minusoone, at a PTA meeting. They are nice folks; sadly, stuttering seems to run in the family.

My experience is that you have to ask for a Borgata host. Their desk is in the back of the hi-limit slots area near the main entrance.

That's good to know. I'm going to check it out. You never know when you might want a special accommodation like an ironing board or second refrigerator or larger suite.
