All casinos have rigid rules re: what behavior is (instantly) reportable and to whom.

Big bets and big wins are obvious, but big buy-ins can be red-flagged as well.

There is no (good) reason to buy-in with $1,000, unless you are betting minimum black.

So Flash, let's see if I have this summary correct regarding your 20-unit buy-in guideline:

It applies to a maximum of a $25 unit table: namely, $500 20-unit buy in.

But at a $50 table, revert to a 10-unit buy in of $500.

Similarly, at a $100 table, revert to a 10-unit buy in of $1000.

Finally, what if you only have $1000 chips in your pocket and want to begin play at a $50 table? (Or should that player have requested $500 chips and no yellow when previously coloring?)

I have had this experience.

Asking for purple upon coloring up is easiest of course.

If I have larger, I walk up to a craps table and toss one or more big chips on the felt and ask specifically for purple chips.
