True Story — stranger than fiction.

A few months ago I was driving around SouthWest Florida.
I spotted a crummy looking slots parlor which made the one
in the photograph look absolutely palatial by comparison.

What made it so hilariously noteworthy was the name —

Caesars Palace.

Is this a joke? The first pic looks like an auto parts store and the second like a church. Where is this located?

They must have paved the parking lot since I was there. I remember potholes that could swallow a Yugo whole.
That was my first thought too. I thought I had the wrong picture at first because I remember the terrible ruts in the parking lot. In fact, I was afraid my car was going to get hung up on one of them.

However, on second thought I think the portion of the parking lot right in front of the casino was always paved. It is a very small area that is paved while the rest of the lot is dirt. Most of the cars have to park in the dirt area.
I also remember the parking lot being very dark with hardly no lighting. Maybe the light was burned out, but it was kind of spooky and I had a difficult time finding my car.

Of course this was back in 2006 so maybe I'm getting the dark parking lot mixed up with another casino.

Sure glad you guys cleared this up-----I got drunk there one night and I thought it was the woman I ended up with instead of the parking lot.
